Influences: It's like this....I am an accompanist/song writer/ choral arranger/ vocalist. Accompanying is my first love and the voice is a passion of mine. I love arranging for voice. I just love those spiritual arrangements in the school of William Dawson, Jestor Harriston, Hall Johnson, just to name a few. I also love jazz vocal arrangements. Gene Puerling was a favorite of mine, back in the day and the minute I heard Take 6 years ago, I knew that the Puerling sound was an influence of theirs. The sound clips of spirituals are my arrangements and were beautifully sung by the Florida A & M Concert Choral, directed by Ms. Yvonne Hatchett. (1997) The compilation of arrangements entitled, "6 Spirituals and Gospels" can be purchased at Advancemusic.com The third and fourth clips were written and co-written, respectively, by myself and Bobby Watson. I also have some vocal jazz arrangements available.
