Finis Terrae

The group, now a septet based in Madrid, Spain, started in 1996. The members come from all over - the U.K., Spain, Chile, Venezuela, USA - and the main instruments are violin, cello, bass, guitar and percussion mixed with various folk instruments ranging from charango and tiple to bagpipes and spoons. Our music embraces a wide variety of folky styles and rhythms that may be difficult to categorise in only one field. ------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------Finis Terrae has played all around Spain, in Stratford-upon-Avon, England and also in Philadelphia and New Jersey, U.S.A., where they were invited to participate in the Northeast American Folk Music and Dance Alliance Showcase Festival in Split Rock, Pennsylvania. Their CD “Gente paseando por la calle” was presented in the Sociedad General de Autores Españoles, Madrid by José Miguel López.
