Bluestone Moon

About Me

Bluestone Moon cooks up infectious pop-rock with a hint of soul, funk, gospel, and the blues. Listeners might hear traces of John Mayer, Marc Broussard, and Maroon 5 on the new album "Tomorrow's Trying to Breathe" (published by Tone Junket Music, LLC) first, but this music is at its best when it offers your ears something altogether new. It’s no coincidence this sound emerged from the vibrant Minneapolis arts scene or that it came from five people all searching for a little inspiration at different points in their lives. Matt Johnson, Bobby Klein, BJ Irmiter, Jac Daccardi, and Jeremy Anderson found the music on this album helps to keep them going and they hope it does the same for you too.
There's often a great story behind great music and the music of Bluestone Moon is no exception. In fact, it's remarkable the album "Tomorrow's Trying to Breathe" was completed at all, as Bobby Klein and Jac Daccardi moved away after the main recording session in the summer of 2006, leaving the future of the project up in the air. Nonetheless, with the help of engineer Paul Marino, producer/engineer Grant Robison, and an extremely talented group of guests, including Kira Lace, Noah Hoehn, Alicia Wiley, Ralph Johnson, and Elizabeth Hermanson, the process continued. With powerful performances tracked in Minneapolis-area studios large and small, additional guitar recorded in Ohio, post-production handled near L.A., and all locations connected at once, what you hear would not have been possible even a few years ago. With artwork by Ryan Noreen, who was also the lyricist on many of the album's songs, adding the finishing touches, the package, however improbable, was complete. So, while it has taken a long while to bring this music to you, we're sure it will be worth the wait!
Of course, fans of the band will know there is more to this story than an extraordinary album. With two members of the original group gone, Matt Johnson, BJ Irmiter, and Jeremy Anderson could easily have decided to hang it up. Thankfully, they found bassist Ryan Butler, guitarist Stan Dotseth, and backup singers Shanna Schultz and Ali Washington instead and continued to establish a major presence in Minneapolis and beyond. This group made the band's original material their own, introduced new sounds, and electrified audiences wherever they went with their amazing live show.
At the end of all this history, we can say one thing for sure: when you hear Bluestone Moon in any incarnation, you will hear great music. Thanks for listening!
