I was born on a farm about 5 years ago. It was a tough life for me at first. Dad took off before I was born and Mom did what she could but our owner didn't feed us well or take very good care of us at all.
One day, this guy came over and started chasing us all over the place. He caught my sister first and put her into a cage. I ran and hid in all my best places but it was not too long before he caught me as well. I went into the cage with my sister and then we were carried to a new house only 1/4 mile away through a corn field.
This man brought us into his house, covered us with flea soap and washed us quite well. After that, he fed us and left us alone to walk around the house and explore some. A few days later, my sister was given to a friend and I see her still from time to time.
I tried to run "Home" a few times but my new owner always came and found me, carried me home and rubbed my back while we watched TV together. After a while I decided that this would just be my home from now on and I have never run off again.
It's not all fun and games for me, there have been shots, and disagreements about proper bathroom facilities, but I am very happy in my new home. I have 2 children to play with and I sleep in bed with one of them at night. There is another dog here for me to hang with, a cat, and some creature called a goat who is fun to play with.
I like long walks after dinner, cuddling, and barking up strangers.
