Robbie is the former lead vocalist for Aussie act Cherrypickers and UK band Exit Tahiti. He has toured with INXS, Deep Purple and a host of other international artists. Johnny has worked in bands such as CIKIM and The Convenience, and is hugely involved in the Wollongong music scene.
In December, 2004, Robbie left to pursue projects in the UK – pushing Single Note Theory into hiatus. However, in January, 2007, exactly two years later, the SNT project was put back on the table, and the boys began writing again at high speed.
The band expanded in February, 2007, when relative newcomers Adam Edwards (bass/guitars) and Rob ‘V’ (drums/percussion) joined the band, and as a result SNT’s intimate style of music swelled to incorporate two very creative musicians. The band insists though, that the subtleties of the music are still the main focus. Robbie says that such an environment “allows the songs to breathe and take on a life of their ownâ€.
SNT has a minimalist approach, and Johnny is often heard to say, “The greatest songs in the world usually have three chords and the truth.â€
SNT draws its musical roots from diverse tastes - U2, Led Zeppelin, Biffy Clyro, K’s Choice, Snow Patrol and the Tea Party just to name a few. Their carefully crafted harmonies and unique song structures have already had local audiences raving about the bands potential. Come and see the band for yourself and make up your own mind.
