The band is comprised of three core members (and a lot of guest musicians) and specializes in southern rock, classic rock, new and old country music and blues, plus original music composed by members of the band.
Kevin Winters provides lead vocals with a velvet voice, as well as rhythm and lead guitar, mandolin, and dobro. Kevin is a 30+ year employee of Frito-Lay (wow, how old is he, anyway?) and lives in Binghamton with his wife, Cindy.
Drums are played by Mike Debetta, who also sings lead and back-up vocals, and occasionally plays a mean bass guitar and congas as well. Mike lives in Afton with his fiance' Andrea, where he is a volunteer fireman and fire police captain, as well as an EMS provider.
Darrell Dennison plays the bass guitar and Keyboards. Darrell was a radio announcer and Dee Jay for several years, and lives in Kirkwood with his wife Tammy and two sons, Matt and Collin. Darrell has a passion for music, sports (hockey, baseball, football) and computers.
The band is also fortunate enough to have great support from their spouses, who attend gigs, assist with equipment and set up, and lend a hand whenever necessary.
With over a century of collective experience, Short Change has a vast repertoire spanning all genres of music. The band is a tight-knit group and enjoys playing together, as well as taking band field trips to various music festivals and other interesting places.
