Big Mike’s Music
The great Shawn Pander (myspace.com/shawnpander) sang his heart out for me on..."Will I Remember You". I wrote this when I found out my mother had Pancreatic Cancer. Rob Fitzpatrick did a beautifull job on piano and just about everything else.
Song number two.. Angels Wings, what can I say, listen to it and you will be singing along..
Song number three is.. Oh My Oh My...Recorded years ago and for the life of me can’t remember the singers name...But this was a good day in the studio, T.J.Sullivan Guitars, Phil Block on drums, Jimmy Harris on Bass....
Song four I Use To Believe In Love.... Sums it all up...

If you don't know who has his arm around me then shame on you. So let me tell you a story.

In 2001 I saw a blurb in the L.A. Weekly stating that Billy Joe Shaver was coming to the Knitting Factory, and acording to the writer of the article Billy Joe Shaver was considered one of the best songwriters living today. Well being a songwriter I took the chance and attended the show, I believe it was April of 2001. I knew nothing about Billy Joe Shaver other than what that little blurb stated. As Billy Joe himself told us all at the show he had just lost his son on new years to drugs. Eddie Shaver as I found out later was Billy Joes guitar player as well. And from further searching he was considered a great lead guitarist playing with many people over the years. Now Billy went on to explain that he had just lost his wife a year earlier and with the death of his son he just wanted to die. This is were Kinky Freidman, Billy Joes close friend, ordered him to go on a tour to save his life. Well as you can imagine this was a very emotional concert with Billy Joe dropping to his knees frequently to pray to God and shed a tear.

It's been a few years now and I have been lucky enough to see Billy Joe perform three times, and I have had the chance to hang with him a little (he is a sweetheart), and I can proudly say Billy Joe shaver is the best living songwriter, period. Please go to his web page Billy Joe Shaver.com or his myspace Billy Joe Shaver.com and give him a listen. And buy his cd's, my personal favorite is self titled "Shaver". In life you can lead a horse to water, but can you get him to drink? I've led now you go drink..

Sounds Like:

Well here's Shawn Pander out in the cold playing at the 2007 NAMM show as an invited guest by the John Lennon songwriting contest. The traffic was a nightmare the parking was ridiculous
but Mr.Pander shined.
I can't say enough about this kid, he's my friend and one hell of a songwriter and performer. If you don't know who he is, go to his myspace and check him out (myspace.com/shawnpander), and purchase his new album "Memories For Sale". You will not be disapointed.
