I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I am surrounded by a musical family which included my father who taught all of us “upstarts” to tarry at the piano and wait for The anointing (and I still can't play like him); but the torch continues burning through my brothers and sisters; glows and grows through my children, nephews and nieces. I believe that Dad really passed on a powerful torch with flames that engulfs all. I've played with and for so many fantastic, ministering folk such as Rosemary Griffin,Dorothy Grant, Lenny Champion, The O'Neal Twins,The J.D.Williams Singers, the Walter Piper Singers,Orangeburg Gospel Choral Union,The Alumni Chorale Of The National Convention Of Gospel Choirs and Choruses,The Faith Ensemble and worked on or played on Projects of Bibleway of Atlas Road "Great New City", Progressive Church Of Our Lord Jesus Christ"The Power of Praise" as well as produced projects of my own. Some of whom are still serving and some whose work here has ended... but in each venue and with each one of the called, God has made me a blessing. My "EAGLES" who are standing on my shoulders call me their mentor, but I, the teacher, am also standing on the shoulders of those who have gone .. me. My sounds cannot and would not exist if it weren't for their trail-blazing efforts. My ten-fingered orchestra can only reflect what the Chief musician has taught me. Now I'm learning from my "EAGLES". Everything comes full circle but it's glorious.Listen to my EAGLES as they soar. Who are my EAGLES? Not in any particular order they are: Min. Antonio Black, Min. Aquilera Black, Jonathan Jackson, Timothy Jackson, Kenneth Jackson Jr.,La'Monte Jackson, Charles Johnson, Harry Harrison, David Black, Richard Odom, Benny Gandy, Nathaniel Priester, John Priester, Ernest Priester and I must not forget Elder Brian Dykes, nor Ivan Douglas and my first Eagle the late Tommy Douglas. If you ever get a chance to hear them, you will want to bless and thank God for their gifts. I've got some high flying vocalists as well but I will only name the ones who God uses to pull you into the stratosphere of pure worship and ministry. Not in any particular order they are...C. J. Butler, Anieta Black, Catina Rosemond and my " Godson" Marvin Davis, Jr.I often wonder, what instruments are we going to play when we play with the Master Musician or for that matter how will our music sound? If it sounds anywhere like what I hear with the "songs in the night", then I know why we'll need a new body. One thing I do know, there won't be any choir rehearsals. (SMILE)Some call me a creative genius. I don't know about that, but I remember challenging a mockingbird to a duel and lost. The sounds in my head are never the same but as I create, It seems that each song and every sound has to be carefully prepared and orchestrated by the One who gives the mockingbird matchless runs. One day I'll challenge that bird again and this time win.To hear more check out www.kenthomja.comBe blessed

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Creative folk. Musicians, songwriters, composers, folks who would rather praise and play then eat. Folks who are awakened in the wee hours of the morning by God who gives us songs in the night. Those who know what I'm talking about, know that it's a once in a lifetime opportunity.
