About Me
Tina Sparkle is an original Rock/Pop/Indie Power Trio from the Peoria Area, but really Brimfield, IL. Led by Marsha Satterfield (lead Vocals/Guitar/Song Writer) and backed up by the Cave Man/Moonesque (but not quite as awesome) drumming of brother and long time accomplice in rock, Atomic Satterfield and "Lead Bass" of Chris "noodlebass" Anderson, Tina Sparkle takes influence from the vast history of rock music, including but not limited to: The Pretenders, Rainer Maria, Iggy and The Stooges, AC/DC, The Who, Cat Power, and Chuck Berry. Marsha's very personal lyrical style mixed with her classic rock guitar driven songs brings a familiar, yet fresh voice to the current state of popular music, especialy with the bands drive to keep their shows and recordings as honest and raw as possible (ie: NO AUTOTUNE and minimized Protools trickery!). Everyone in the band has logged years of stage time, and on record, (a minimum of 12 releases between the three members) localy and accross the US in such bands as The Amazing Kill-o-watts (Atomic and Marsha), The Forecast (Marsha), Scouts Honor (Atomic), Super88 (Chris) and more over the past 12+ years. Curently you can purchase the bands Debut Full Length "All Around Champion Screw Up" on Thinker Thought Records at local Peoria Co-Ops, at Shows, or on I-Tunes, EMusic, and other online distribution centers!Coming SOON on TTR "Ladbugs and Firecrackers" 3 song 7" EP (and digital conveniece adaption) as soon as we save up some scratch to press the dang thing!

tina sparkle has been in the works since 1998 when marsha (EX FORECAST/AMAZING KILLOWATTS) and her friend ben started writing songs together. at the time they were a little "grunge" but when they both soon grew in music, everything got more melodic. they started playing with marsha's bro aTomic (EX SCOUTS HONOR/AMAZING KILLOWATTS) on drums. when ben decided to move to olympia for college...we trained clint k on bass. played a show as a foursome and started up writing as a threesome. marsha, clint, and aTomic played like that for a couple years before finding davin (GREYSON/AMAZING KILLOWATTS) as the second guitar adding much needed umph. and now mr. clint has been reborn as mr. DAVE MOE (BLOODY MESS AND THE TRANSFUSIONS). davin field is out of the picture...so NOW we are a monstrous 3-piece ready to make you weep at our next show.
"All Around Champion Screw-Up, Tina
Sparkle (Thinker Thought): Led by Marsha
Satterfield, this Peoria, Ill., quartet comes in more
on the alternative/indie side of the rock spectrum,
frequently compared to PJ Harvey and the
Pretenders. Satterfield’s lyrics openly address her
lesbian lovers, ex-lovers and crushes, while the
band’s music aptly expresses the angst and regret
detailed in her songs about broken hearts, bad
timing and missed opportunities. The scorching
distortion-fest, “Suck the Panic,†and the bluesy,
harmonica-blasting “Kiss and Tell†are harder
rocking standouts, while the more melodic opener
“Starting the Year†and string-filled ballad “Noun
Verb Noun†are more radio-friendly picks. Solid
from beginning to end. Go Peoria." Curve Magazine"The Tina Sparkle record sounds fucking amazing. bright, brilliant, lush, textured. great recording. great record by the MF sparkle." applegate audio"Excellent, female-fronted pop/punk. This has some more aggressive spots but for the most part just rocks and makes your foot tap. For fans of other strong, female-fronted bands such as the PRETENDERS, RAINER MARIA, or TILT." milwaukee"Your voice makes me die inside! I am going to download that song (I'll Bruise You) and you can kill me every day..."Erin from Canton, IL."I had to step back at first...it was so powerfull"Laura from Moscow, ID."I can't get yer panic song out of my head...mmmm!"Rishika (P-Town Brown) from Peoria, IL."Tina Sparkle...Was amazing. Marsha is the sexiest lesbian alive!"Matt from Peoria, IL.Tina Sparkle play a fast moving female fronted indie pop rock style that is pretty laid back. They have spacey moments that they mix in with more aggressive parts, all with a seemless transistion. The guitar riffs are thoughtful and the drums are light and airy, giving the music a very relaxed feel. When they want to be intense, they do a very good job of it. The bar brawl style country themed "Kiss and Tell" has a high energy level and a great rocking ability to it. Its a pick me up and a nice surprise on this mostly mellow album.*WE DO NOT AUTOTUNE AND WE DO NOT SOUND LIKE ANYONE IN THIS TOWN, STATE OR MIDWEST* and thats just too bad...not at all.........
