What's the Clockwork Elevator?:
The Clockwork Elevator is a musical project ran by Jakeman (Copious guitarist). Jakeman has put this project together in order to record acoustic ideas along with performing/recording songs with friends that do not fall under the Copious banner.
Why not give these songs directly to Copious?:
Normally Jakeman would, however some songs that he writes just don't have that Copious feel. Other songs on here could be idea's that he would put up and return to at a later date after follow up work has been done on them to see if they were suited to Copious but why waste good songs by leaving them in a mixer for months, why not put them on here for people to listen to.
History of the Clockwork Elevator:
The Clockwork Elevator was an idea that Jakeman came up with when he was a teenager, the band its self was orginally an acoustic band but over the years different members and different genres graced its path. When Jakeman was 20 he eventually left the band domant to form another band which eventually broke up after musical differences. Over the years that followed Jakeman took breaks, played other instruments and eventually joined the legendary Copious but the Clockwork Elevator remained a dormant graveyard of his past. In 2008 Jakeman returned to the concept of the Clockwork Elevator deciding that with technology these days allowing music to be easily transferred online he would relaunch The Elevator for acoustic ideas and non Copious projects. A chance for people to share there idea's and write/perform with Jakeman and get themselves onto the Elevator's open expression. "Without music we have no voice".
