"Enlightened" 16x20 Acrylic and Ink. 2007 $175
This painting was created specifically for the RED exhibit regarding the topic, HIV/ AIDS. This is a painting of a woman being enlightened by a spiritual connection. The viewers can choose the creator, nature, the power of comforting words from a friend or family member, a good deed, or an epiphany as their spiritual source.
HIV/AIDS has become so commonplace today that it does not have the same shock value as when it first was discovered. Everyone who has a friend or family member with this horrific disease become a victim, as well. They are looking for enlightenment or a new spiritual insight. Hence, my painting, “Enlightenedâ€, is another innocent (but powerful) hope to be granted by my (our) spiritual creator.
