About Me
Construction:
TRIAXIAL RESPONSE EPS/Epoxy
The Triaxial Response EPS/Epoxy System is the best thing going in surfboards for 2007! It consists of a water resistant 2lbs./cu. ft. EPS core (fully customizable DSD computer shaped), a fat wood stringer, improving torsional flex. They surf snappier and more responsive than a regular polyester, they're a lot harder to ding, and they keep their flex life for way longer. Repair just like a regular board, but use epoxy resin. We use KEAHANA Maximun Performance Epoxy Resin Technology.
Models:
GREMLIN
Yes, little kids can surf these days and they need special equipment to do so. The Gremlin model is for the kids who are already ripping at a young age. Sure, it's just a mini short board, but we have been perfecting this one for a while. The curves have to be just right to keep the kids on the right track for their pro-surfing career. Almost no shops carry a grom specific rip stick. Those who do will thus be the only ones selling them. The market is out there. This board will help them progress, but is not for outright beginners.
MAD DOG
When the ocean starts moving, surfers get divided into two groups: those who sit out the back, and those who go inside or around the corner. The Mad Dog model is for those who like heavy conditions. Specify the type of Mad Dog for the waves you plan to rush: for barrels, get narrower, curvier Tube-Needle; for big deep water peaks, get wider, flatter Paddleing Machine.
TRP
When the waves supply all the juice you need, the board just needs to flow with it and feel like a regular short board does in small waves. Derived from the original Tomamhawk, The Tomahawk Round Pin is a step up board for overhead waves. The outline is pulled in, it has shallower concaves, extra tail kick, and a little vee. This is an effort to control speed while keeping the board loose and manageable. A forgiving ride that shines when the waves are firing.
TOMAHAWK
This is our all around hot rod for the surfer who likes to drive off the tail. It's a carvy board that excels in good waves, but is still flat enough to be fun in less optimal conditions. Flowing, unexapperated curves lead to smooth riding. Engaging the tail makes this board very fast and loose with positive control. Most surfers will like the TOMAHAWK.
MAGNUM
Power and projection off the front foot are balanced with freedom and looseness off the tail. Strong down the line projection comes from the low entry rocker, while good curve between the feet allows for snaps off the top and hooks in the pocket without hanging up. More power from the front foot characterizes the magnum model. A pronounced flat spot under the front foot make this a good choice for the surfer who wants drive from the front foot and turning from the back. It also accommodates the surfer who varies a bit with foot placement.
THE KID
Those who like to drive off the concaves and snap off the top in a vertical fashion will prefer the Randy "THE KID" Bonds model. Rocker and concaves lend to burst of speed through tight arcs, which enable radical lip maneuvers and tight surfing in the pocket. A good surfer will use the rocker and concaves to seamlessly link one turn to the next. An average surfer will use it to improve vertical game. The Kid model works best in hollow waves or anything with a good pocket and lip to smash.
MAGIC CARPET
Effortless glide is the defining feature of the Magic Carpet. A relatively flat rocker between the surfer’s feet makes this board go with little effort. The surfer will notice instant speed right when he hops up that is easily carried through the flats and in down the line burst acceleration. Medium tail rocker keeps it loose.
KATANA
We forged this blade in the beach breaks of Japan, and honed it in the point breaks of Santa Cruz. Ride it an inch or so smaller than normal, as it is flat. Less rocker, balanced by a curvy outline with a pronounced hip between the feet, add up to an all around weapon for annihilating small to medium sized waves.
HOGFISH
Stick an air, destroy a lip, or lay into a full rail gaff. The point is that this fish is extremely versatile, making this a great all around board. We actually designed it so we could still surf when the waves are shit. Little did we know that she would be so fun when the waves got good. Optimally, it should be ridden 6" shorter and an inch wider than your normal board and, at the very least, 3"- 4" shorter than you are tall. Regardless of the waves, she's easy to ride and always fun!
PUCK
Chuck the M10 PUCK without limitation and hang on for the ride. It fits in the pocket with a narrow nose and tail, while it flies and spins off that wide and round mid-section. Get one 3-4 inches shorter than your standard board.
