About Me

Like many DJ’s Nick started out collecting Electro, Hip Hop and Rare Groove records before succumbing to the charms of Acid House and beyond. Nick first hit the decks in the early 90’s playing underground parties and club nights before becoming a regular at one of London’s post Acid House clubs, Juicy Fruit at Ormonds. Cutting his DJing teeth along side the likes of Rocky & Diesel (X-Press 2), Terry Farley & Nancy Noise, Nick soon went on to appear as a regular guest and resident at some of UK’s best clubs including Club UK, The Leisure Lounge, The End, Sex Love & Motion @ The Soundshaft, Heaven and Escape (Brighton). In 2001 Nick launched his own club night Therapy London which featured regularly at Freedom @ Bagley’s Warehouse (later renamed Canvas), Kings Cross. This led to Nick being invited to DJ at Prologue in 2002, a monthly Saturday night held at The Cross renowned for pushing musical boundaries where Nick secured a DJ residency that ran for three years or so at both The Cross and more recently the EGG.

In 2001 Nick launched Reform Recordings, a label renowned for pushing quality underground house, achieving worldwide sales in vinyl and digital format and regularly featuring in the review pages of DJ, IDJ, DMC, Update, M8, TTR, Resident Advisor and 365 Mag. Reform has also received Club and Radio support from DJ’s and producers such as X-Press 2, Tom Stephan, John Digweed, Rui Da Silva, Paul Woolford and Meat Katie. The label has mainly featured Nick’s own productions recording under the names of Nick Dare, Overdrive and Liquid Dreams.

Nick is now producing tracks exclusively for license and has releases and remixes on Lost My Dog, Tango, Detour and Wiggle which are reciving support from the likes of Darren Emerson, Laurent Garnier, M.A.N.D.Y, DJ Hipp-E, Onionz, Inland Knights & Lawnchair Generals. In addition to his productions, with over 15 years DJ experience and an innate ability to read the crowd, Nick’s DJ sets are highly sought after and encompass a sublime mix of Jacking und house and tech grooves. His skills have seen him play all over the UK with recent highlights including Fabric, East Village, Kerfuffle and Ministry Of Sound as well as dates in Europe.
