DJ SOULCHILD - Not Your Average Club DJ!Besides being an R&B fanatic since the tender age of 11, and today a true purist, connaisseur, specialist and tastemaker with his eye firmly set on the ever-evolving Black Music scene, DJ Soulchild is also a multi-talented musician who has been active in the Swiss R&B game for over 13 years.His first major contribution to the scene started as a lead singer of Switzerland's popular and very-first R&B/Pop boyband "4tonite" , which saw him win numerous talent competitions across Switzerland and Germany, and even provided him with the opportunity to support major acts, such as 112, Lumidee and Solange Knowles (Beyoncé’s sister). After 9 years of endless highs and lows in the music industry, the group parted ways back in 2004 on a friendly basis.Focused and determined to keep on representing his musical passion to the fullest, Soulchild took the time to re-position himself and make the most of his given abilities. Over the years, DJ Soulchild has developed himself into a self-made entrepreneur and icon on the Swiss R&B scene, not only by shaking up clubs across the country as a well-respected DJ and being crowned by his audience and fellow DJ colleagues as "The R&B King" because of his selectively picked and unmistakably smooth sets, but also as a successful Event Manager / Artist Promoter / Booking Agent / Songwriter / Co-Producer and Remixer. The latter has even gained him airplay success in the UK with the support of major radio stations, such as BBC1Extra, Kiss FM, Galaxy FM, SolarRadio, Hot 92 FM and Oxford 107.9 FM. If you're living in Switzerland, you'll have heard his interviews and hot mixtapes aired on Radio 105 Dope!, Radio X and Radio Basel 1, seen him appear on TV stations such as Sat1, StarTV, TeleBasel and Tele24 or read about him in numerous leading national magazines and newspapers. In June 2008 the UK's no.1 selling Urban/Lifestyle magazine TOUCH even published a full article in honour of his achievements.What was once a dead and dried up Black Music scene in his hometown of Basel, has finally been revived over the past few years, thanks to DJ Soulchild and his legendary party series “Soul Boutique”, “SoSoFresh”, "The Juice", and “Black Urban Fridays” at 2 of Basel City's main hotspots Singerhaus and BarRouge, which he organizes as the co-owner of BraviRagazzi Ent. / True Playaz Mgmt., along with his partner and close friend Jay. The main focus of these events, is to introduce Basel to the freshest new cutting-edge Urban sounds within a safe club atmosphere and simultaneously provide overseas exposure and performances for today’s current and tomorrow’s up-and-coming R&B/Hip-Hop stars.2008 was another big year for “Soulcheeezy”, as he is lovingly called by his friends and followers, with over 70 gigs in Switzerland and across the globe within this period.
