Idyll is a Swedish, non-profit, non-governmental and non-religious association, based in Sweden. Our goal is to challenge conceptions of identity, gender and sexuality.
Idyll aims to create a space where small participators can meet big for co-working and inspiration. The events that we produce offers an alternative to the scene for music and culture that excludes and divide people through conceptions of gender, sexuality, ethnicity, social class or age. Instead, idyll provides space for people that might never had met because of these restricting boundaries.
Every month idyll arranges Club idyll. In a small bar located at Södermalm, Stockholm, all of the furniture are being removed the whole bar transforms into a sweaty, ecstatic dance floor. Besides this Idyll also runs a blog, at www.klubbidyll.se, hosts a giant sweaty dance-party during the Pride Festival of Stockholm 2007 and arranges a queer film festival in the end of October 2007.
WE ARE NOW ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS FOR FILMIDYLL!
FilmIdyll is our film festival through which we aim to create a forum on the basis of queer, understood as a critical approach to norms in general and sexual norms in particular, always with a feminist perspective. Until 17th of August we are accepting submissions from artists who would like to participate. Please contact [email protected] for more information.
