B.bass
Steppin up from Wolverhampton
Martin Warren best known as B.bass, started listening to acid house and reggae
music in the late 80's through to the early 90's when he was at a young tender
age. When he reached the age of 13 he heard prodigy's tune called Charley which
got him on to the rave scene wanting more. B.bass then started listening to
stations such as Fantasy FM, Exile FM and tape packs with the likes of Rat pack,
Top buzz, Micky Finn and so on. He then went on to buy his first records, B.bass
had just one deck and one tape deck at the time and then eventually went on
and brought new turntables and a mixer and became self taught in the art of
mixing. B.bass hooked up with a few friends in 1995 and they introduced him
to some contacts on a local pirate station. B.bass then got a slot on a graveyard
shift, after a few months he was moved to a prime time slot then presented on
the station for 4 years and progressed and went on to play in clubs like FIRSTBASE
NIGHT CLUB, SIMPSON'S WINE BAR and so on, in the mid 90's.
While B.bass was doing all of
this in his spare time he took course's in sound engineering and moved on to
media skills where he had his first taste of music production. As he progressed
through 2000. B.bass then set up his own studio and started producing drum and
bass. By this point B.bass was inspired by Tech itch Recordings, Fuze Recordings,
Moving shadow and many more. As B.bass progressed on his production he got to
speak to Technical itch and started to send samples of his tunes to him. B.bass
went on further and started to send his work to more labels and producers. Eventually
having his tunes played out by Technical itch and many other Dj's. In 2004 B.bass
was yet again offered a prime time slot on District FM where he was repping
once again. B.bass then had bookings at clubs like CANAL CLUB, LEGENDS and other
venues in the area. As B.bass's rep carried on growing he went on to have his
first release on Telepathic Recordings and recently spoke to L Double about
having one of his tunes remixed and was invited to go to Bristol. In 2005 B.bass,
Skitty, Nolige and Hodson went on to set up a night called TIMELESS, they had
dj's and mc's come down with the likes of Rohan, Outrage, Dylan, Loxy, Fozz,
Manikular, PM and many more. As of now B.bass is currently move'ing along and
we hope to see him further his productions.
