"Suzi Quatro: A Prototype in the Archsheology of Rock" by Frank W. Oglesbee:
A note on sources: initially these were limited to those easily accessible to others who might wish to pursue the general concept--sources listed in the Music Index, London and New York Times indexes, Reader's Guide. However, much material is not listed in those, or the usual more academic indexes, but two useful areas turned up. One, thanks to the home video recorder, was about fourteen hours of television appearances by Quatro (not counting her role as Leather Tuscadero on Happy Days). These include American, British, Australian, German, Italian, and Japanese television shows and televised concerts. Unfortunately, ..ation tends to be casual, so often the date is unknown, or even the particular program. Luckily, a dedicated Quatro fan, Faren Short, publishes Suzi and Other Four Letter Words, a fanzine reflecting her work and that of numerous other fans. Among the material is Short's lists of Quatro's British television appearances, which solves part of the problem. The fanzine also includes an ongoing discography project, and reports on Quatro's non-rock projects, such as her appearance in a revival of Annie Get Your Gun. This labor of love is an invaluable source for materials unlisted in standard indexes and hard, if not impossible, to find in the American midwest. However, thanks to the Internet, some of these materials can be acquired through dealers in used periodicals.
