Biography
Daniel Kaarill have been moving through every genre of electronic music, since the first time he stood on a dance floor at a rave - 15 years old. From house to techno, through every thing from drum'n'bass to experimental electronica, before finaly discovering the dubby, German minimal style that defines his DJ sets today. Though it happens that Daniel playes both chill out, in the form of click'n'cut, or hard, old school techno if the opportunity emerges. He builds up his set consequently, but at the same time manages to supprice his audiance with forgotten tracks and new sounds.
In 2003 Daniel Kaarill started collaborating with personal friend Mikkel Sörensen about the club project "Zerrbild", which is now a well known part of the Copenhagen undergound scene. Inspired by the electronic scene in Berlin, the two agreed to do something about local night life. After a hectic summer in 2004, with among other things, some very succesful pre-parties at Café Riga, they took an active part in building up the club 'Culture Box'. In 2005 Zerrbild started mixing the great underground cocktail of pressent and future tallents from Berlin, Cologne, and Copenhagen at Culture Box. Since then they have presented names such as Burger/Voigt, Superpitcher, Dominik Eulberg, Misc., Benno Blome, Sweet n Candy, Format: B, Blackwall, Marcel Jochmann, Dapayk, Marcel Knopf, From Karaoke To Stardom, Ark, Cabanne, Jay Haze, Sammy Dee, Joachim Speith, Thomas Gwosdz, Heib and many more. They have also Developed a close collaboration with several Danish and International labels, for instace the German Opossum Recordings.
Daniel frequently spins at the two main electronic clubs in Copenhagen - Culture Box and Nadsat. He have also played underground venues such as Lab, Den Grå Hal, Dunkel, Zum Biergarten, Café Riga, Turbinehallerne, as well as the Tweak FM underground radio and Danish National Radio P3.
Besides running Zerrbild, he currently manages the now internationally renowned venue Culture Box, and promotes the record label Echocord.
