From a city of high crime....before and after one of the most deverstating events that ever took place in America’s history in New Orleans 2005 hurricane Katrina took hope away from many who seem to have a hard time rebuilding there life...out from the cleared smoke came perhaps the new sole of-a gloomy city named "Shawn From Algiers" one of the most promising young artist in a long time many may say! The lonely son of three children Shawn became a man before intended. Coming from an area full of crime and poverty, brutal police...and scared residents in a area called Algiers... West of New Orleans. With his two older sister’s leaving home to become young ladies with there own lives ahead Shawn learnt alot of things da hard way.... from being a neighborhood bad azz, getting kicked out of school on the regular, fighting, stealing...and etc. His wake up call came when he was 9 years old when he later moved with his grandmother....Where he was exposed to whats right and whats wrong, and was showed motherly love by his grandmother. "I remember nights I slept by neighbors, or nights where I went inside and not know where my next meal was coming from or who was going to supervise me while my mother was in the streets". Crying many nights on the inside but smiling on the out Shawn often hid alot of his troubles by trying not to think about it...but it often came out through his muzik and it came out when he was acting bad in school. "Tell you the truth.... muzik keep me outta lotta shit my nigga, man I been through it all which it’s nuttin to brag on but it hurted me to my heart to go through what I been through and I want to share my bad experiences with others to show nigga’s that I’m living proof of when there’s a will there’s a way" Shawn’s the new street motivation....sound like an inspirational speaker telling his conrads there’s a right way and a wrong way to do things! His agony comes through his choruses where he sings and harmonizes his pain to the average listener that’ll make you fall in love with his ghetto style.... Already said to be the founder of something new in gangsta muzik... some say he has the chance to be one of New Orleans Rap legends to come. Dropping memorable mixtapes of the past Shawn has the up and coming Underground album "Blood,Sweat,& Years" coming in late September 2007....This classic mixtape was said to be some of the best sh?? ya’ll heard in years....ladies in Jets I present to you Shawn From Algiers!!!
