"Whether u like the voice or despise it, Whether u stop the track or rewind it, Whether you open ya mind or stay blinded, ur criticism is my reason I stay grindin'" are real words spoken from a real individual. It's so easy to jump on the bandwagon and ride what's in style and what everybody else is doing. City does not follow that lead. Instead, he is a leader of a different direction. A direction in which means to allow his listeners to vibe to his music while thinking outside the box. Yea, he has that swagg of a thug off the streets and that babyface of innocent citizen. But behind all that appears to the basic eyesight of a regular humanbeing, there lies more deep inside that would eat the average person alive within hours, maybe days. Having a double strike against him due to the color of his skin and the skills he holds within, City is the artist you hate to love but love to hate. No matter if you listen to solely rock and roll, punk, classical, r&b, christian, etc., City is the type that can touch anybody's life with the words and rhythm he laces over the beats. Those who try and compare him never succeed. No matter how much you try and duplicate something or someone, they are never the same. City is based off of originality and creativity. The events that happen inhis music are life events that he has truly gone through. There are no lies to his music. There are no lies to be covered up. There are no reasons to hate this talented caucasian male other then hating him for talent you wish you possessed. Everyone wants to do something great with their lives, but only a select few succeed to do so. Coming from a city where the hip hop scene isn't the greatest, City fights not only to be heard in his own backyard but to be heard all over the world. He states, "There is no limit to the possibilities i can create for myself in the network in which i consider myself in. I don't want handouts. I don't want someone famous to make me famous. I want somebody to hear me and say that's real talent that we need to promote. I will work my ass off just to get where i want and i don't mind paying dues to get there." After releasing his debut album "Half Hood Half Burb" in December of 2007, City had made a killing in profit with it being just an underground album. The album featured OHIO artists such as NOVA Da Rebel, Gyfted, and Dramasyde. He also featured a big named artist from NYC named K. Sparks who collabed on the track "Wut Da Hood" with City. This 24 year old rapper is making his way through the city of Cleveland, OH shaking off the haters daily and reminding people what real talent is all about. "Hip hop is looked at as a "Black thing" for african americans to engage in. I look at hip hop as talent with words. Being able to keep rhythm with a beat while telling people a story. Whether it's true or not. It's entertainment and people need to understand that. But at the same time, people need to understand that real rappers speak about real life shit that the government won't speak about, that the news won't cover, and what most people are scared to talk about in public because of the way they will be looked down upon. I'm not tryin to be black. I'm not tryin to be somethin i'm not. I'm just a guy who grew up with hip hop in my blood and rolled with it" stated City. City knows the odds are against him everyday, but he presses on. He knows that the threats and racial topic will always be brought to the table just because people are ignorant. He knows that his chances are slim to none but he still presses on with hope to be that SOMEBODY that EVERYBODY listens to. He's not here to make you hate, he's here to share the gift god has given to him with the world. "I fight for the underdogg cuz i am that underdogg. Was always the underdogg no matter what. So for me to make it big would be an accomplishment for all underdogg's in the whole world who are constantly overlooked", City says. "No matter what though, even if i don't make it big, I'm still proud at what I've done and knowing that i've done more in my life then most have makes me feel pretty damn happy. But no matter what happens, I'ma always be City no matter where i go. Even after I'm gone, people gonna still remember who i was and what I did".
People i can network with and meet new contacts and fresh new faces. I would like to meet a number of producers and artists which have helped me through the years as influences in my life. Anyone interested in doing business, collabing on projects, photo shoots, video shoots, magazine and radio interviews, performances, commercials, and talks of gettin' City's music played in their clubs, send a message and it will be replied to asap! Much Luv!
