This track is just dripping with coooool. This is a guitar lover’s showcase. This guy should be interviewed by Guitar Player Magazine. I want to hear all the answer to questions about his equipment and how he tweaks the knobs and all the details. How do you get that sound? Wouldn’t help my playing though, I could pick up his rig and start playing and it wouldn’t come out the same. Something in how he strikes the strings, angle of the pick, I don’t know, just a feel for it, still just way cooooool.The guitar tones are the rich sauce ladled over a savory dish. Mesquite smoked rhythm with a down-on-it beat. Slide guitar spilling out all over the edge of the plate. A big baked potato of vocals with sour cream and butter. Bass playing with a bite like a jalapeño. This ain’t no health food music! The taste is in the fat guitar sound. You’ll need lots of napkins though, you’re supposed to hear it with greasy hands.. I’m proud to say I’m from the same state.
