NINE MONTH MEDIA BLACKOUTOur band is named after a poem written by Kurt Cobain, which later became a song named Radio Friendly Unit Shifter.after the departure of bassist Tanner, Nine Month Media Blackout began writing cohesive songs as a two-man force. As of now the future is bright and all of our energy is being focused into making noisy, chaotic garage rock. enjoy.

Influences: A lot of heavy metal, alternative, funk, punk, hard rock, thrash, and such music have influenced us in creating our sound. Metallica, Nirvana , The Cure, Tool, System of a Down, Disturbed, Black Flag, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Soundgarden, Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Sonic Youth, Husker Du, The Divining, Foo Fighters, The Flaming Lips, Korn, The Academy Is..., David Bowie, Led Zeppelin , Slipknot, Wolfmother, Guns N' Roses, Dinosaur Jr, Tenacious D, White Stripes, Velvet Underground, KISS, Slayer, Evanescence, the Pixies, Beck , Green Day, AFI, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers ,

as well as local bands like Voodoo Science, Jeebiss, Where is Russia, the Shakedown Syndicate, The Upcollars, and In Vein have influenced at least one of the members of the band. To those who have been forgotten, we apologise. You were a big influence, too. OHH!! other influences include The Simpsons, Family Guy, Futurama, DETROIT ROCK CITY, Grandma's Boy, and all the greatest rock movies, funny TV shows, and good books of all time.
