About Me
The shit*iest band you'll ever love, RED BLOOD from Northern Minnesota with one mission: Party In Every Position. Born in 1987 by David Lokkness and Adam Jaros, two high school freshman, Red Blood has always maintained the attitude of party first, ask questions later. David and Adam wrote Red Blood 1 – F*CK YOU in one session with nothing more than a tape recorder and a piano, despite only knowing how to play ‘Heart and Soul’. The sound was a straight Elton John with balls. “It wasn’t about quality, it was about attitudeâ€, Jaros stated. “In the 80’s we had Culture Club, The Thompson Twins, even Patrick fu*kin’ Swayze making music. Listening to the radio, I could literally feel my testicles climbing into my stomach. Something raw and rude needed to be created and we answered the call.†singer David Lokkness added. New and raw indeed, a sound best described as the B-52’s by way of AC/DC featuring sexually charged lyrics and wild onstage antics, Red Blood became dedicated to pleasing.Soon after, they ditched the piano and added bass player Nic Tuccne, guitar wizard Wade Bacluva, and drummer John ‘Polish Prince’ Grebinoski. ‘Hot Buttered Muffin’, written by Lokkness and Edward Chabot, became an instant fan favorite and set the tone. Local hits kept coming like ‘Shake ‘Em Baby, Shake ‘Em’, ‘Spellbound’, ‘Crazy Jane’, and ‘I Move Around’. “We’d be playing ‘I Move Around’ and the whole crowd would be singing ‘I’m gonna make a mess on your white virgin schoolgirl dress’ and I would tear upâ€, Nic Tuccne stated. The band was also known for their free jams, creating songs on the spot such as ‘Cleo Cleo’ and ‘Granny San’, about a grandmother illegally shipping in Chinese men to train as her personal death squad. Looking clean cut, Red Blood didn’t appear to be the party band they really were. College tours were legendary, but the band was almost known more for their backstage performances with adoring hotties than their on-stage ones. On the infamous ‘We Rocked, You Came’ tour, the bands notorious indulgences caused infighting. “We were working and playing hard, but we weren’t big stars which was cool for me, but not for everyoneâ€, noted Wade Bacluva. This is when drummer John Grebinoski left the band to ‘find myself’ (note: John WAS found, managing a Ms. Fields Cookies in Rhode Island). Adam Jaros also left the band to form the now defunct group ‘Madam I’m Adam’. Adding drummer Chris ‘MeatHammer’ Allen, Red Blood rocked on until their New Years Eve 1999 “We’re All Gonna Die†millennium concert.Today, the band is ready to rock and a new tour and album are in the works. Singer David Lokkness on the new project, “We’ve grown up, but we’re not even 40 so it’s not like we’re farting dust like the ‘Stones. Our new album will be a bit more mature and with more polished vocals and production. We will be recording a jazz infused song called ‘Sarah’, dedicated to our dear friend Sarah who was killed by a drunk driver. That’s special to all of us.†Don’t expect to the band to grow up too much however, when asked what song Lokkness is currently working on he states, “It’s a song about finding love on a random trip to Dairy Queen on a warm, breezy summer night. It’s called ‘Half My Age and Twice My Weightâ€. We can hardly, well…wait.RED BLOOD IS MANAGED BY RED CARPET ENTERTAINMENT.
