I never thought as a young troubled kid in Detroit that I would ever fulfill my dreams and goals, especially after I fell in love with the thug streets of Detroit. At fourteen, I joined my
first gang, and the Black Panther Party, and started living a life of crime, until age seventeen, when I caught a case for strong- armed-robbery, and assault to commit bodily harm less than murder. I was facing 8 to 20 years in prison for a crime that I did not commit.
I went on trial in Detroit's Frank Murphy Hall of Justice in
Downtown Detroit and was acquitted. It was this day that I was
"Blessed" by the good Lord to turn my life around. I started a new life pursuing music full time. Eventually I went from high school drop out to college graduate at a major university (The
University of Tennessee), in Knoxville, earning a B.A. in Political Science.
At the age of seventeen, I became one of the youngest, if not the youngest music promoters in the country. In a career that has lasted over thirty-years, I have promoted some of the biggest names in show business; the O'Jays, New Edition, M.C. Lyte, Freddie jackson, Melba Moore, Surface, Biz Markie, Kool
Moe Dee, Newcleus, O'Bryan, to name a few. I am now managing a hip hop artist who goes by the name of Dynamo. He is doing something in the music business on an independent level never has never been done before done before, check this site out, http://www.hardisoninternational.netfirms.com (see stream). In fact, he is my oldest living son, following superbly in the footsteps of his big brother, Detroit Rapper, QVD, who accidently shot and killed in Detroit in 1990 at age 18. Dynamo is coming out in a vengeance, so look out!
You can read more in my memoirs: "My life: from the thug streets of Detroit to life as a Music Promoter," by Dennis K. Hardison, currently unpublished, but I'm still negotiating that deal. I have witnessed thousands of bad deals. I've had best
friends with multi-million selling albums that never made a penny off of them, so please be patient, it'll be out soon!Attn. Dennis K. Hardison
