The Palace Theatre first opened its doors in October of 1931. Built during the Great Depression, the theatre was the largest of it's kind in Albany. originally known as the RKO Palace, it was designed by John Eberson, one of the foremost motion picture theatre architects in the world. In 1989 the theatre re-opened its doors to the public as a not-for-profit corporation. Shortly after, the theatre became and continues to be the most diversified in the capital district and is still the home of the Albany Symphony Orchestra. The theatre is located in the heart of downtown Albany on the corners of Clinton Ave. and North Pearl St. Its 2,800 seats are an ideal size for popular music, theatre, and comedy acts.{}I made this myspace background at
