Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass.
Locally Beat Soup, Chucklehead, Allstonians, Bim Skala Bim, Steady Earnest, Popgun 7 (all great stuff on my iPod but shows are fewer and fewer if not gone so I guess its time to hit up the Middle East or TTs to expand the horizons)
The rest of the collection matches my usual avoidance of commitment in that I can't stick to one genre...just no country! A brief scan of the CD rack will find AC DC, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Dio, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, and the Beatles. you'll also find some Tom Jones, B-52s, Madonna, along wih a variety of disco, techno, and the complete set of James Bond themes.
After reading a recent post by a friend I remembered how much I would enjoy catching some industrial - ah, Trocadero in SF, X Night at Axis, sure I'm getting old but what the heck - its only a number!
Airplane will remain the funniest movie ever followed very closely by The Princess Bride.
I like a lot of Indie films (if you like the tacky sci-fi from the 50s you need to check out The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra) and love the sarcastic and alcoholic humor of Arthur
The entire original non-director's cut Star Wars trilogy.
The Boondock Saints, Little Miss Sunshine, and Stranger Than Fiction are some flicks I have seen recently that I loved.
More generically - anything Parker Posey is in except Superman Returns rocks, movies by Mel Brooks and Christopher Guest, cheesy disaster flicks, and of course Bond, James Bond - Connery, Craig, Moore, Brosnan, Dalton in that order
MXC on SpikeTV is very odd but hysterical. Heroes is way groovy - darn writer's strike! Without a doubt Family Guy is my favorite show and thus here is my favorite Family Guy clip:
Also a big fan of The Daily Show, Countdown with Keith Olberman, Top Chef, America's Test Kitchen, most foodTV shows, CNN, the Weather Channel.
