.. The Fight Continues! Ladies & gentelmen,we hope that friday the 19th proved you all that we are serious and we mean buisness. save the kikar protest 19.01.07 Who are we? THE STREET REVOLUTION was originally founded to protect the legendary skate spot: THE KIKAR in the city of Ramat-Hasharon. This place has been the birth place for urban culture in israel.. a road island in the middle of a little town.. a greenhouse for skateboarders, surfers, BMXers etc. The oldest official place that skateboarders in israel can call a skatespot. We organized a big demonstration against a SO CALLED plan by the city hall to turn this beloved skate spot into a garden with grass and water fountains. SAVE THE KIKAR was an unprecedented event that united the israeli Skateboard/ BMX/ surfing communities together in solidarity to protect our precious asset. We are proud to say today that our act of strength led to positive outcomes and to meeting with Ramat-Hasharons mayor Mr. Rochberger where he signed a protocol of understanding with the skaters representative and infront of our lawyer (yes we have a lawyer!). What we fight for? THE STREET REVOLUTION has decided to extend our fights frontline due to recent developments in the state of israel. Our Skateboarding brothers are being mistreated by the cops and authorities in the city of Beer-Sheva and tickets are given to skateboarders in the city of Rishon-Letzion. We have learned that the city of Tel-Aviv approved the city inspectors to TICKET any one engaged in the following activities in the streets of Tel-Aviv: SKATEBOARDING - we have no public skateparks that’s why we roam the streets! Its also good to travel on skateboard in TeL Aviv with all the traffic jams. PLAYING MATCOT ON THE BEACH- Where else in the world would you play that??? This is probably the most israeli thing to do!! RIDING BICYCLE ON THE PAVEMENTS-Because we are afraid of dying by stupid drivers! We don’t have bicycle paths and truly Tel-Aviv is polluted because of too many cars and we should encourage people to ride on bicycle instead of scaring them and ripping them off. see the full article We will not accept this vulgar methods...this world is crazy. you can actually estimate how much a breath cost you in this world and how much it costs you to drink water ..isnt it enough that we pay for almost anything in our lives here? Well its time we stand up for our RIGHT to PARTY and live a joyfull life without any BIG BROTHERS coming knocking on our doorstep anywhere in israel. Yeah We are here to fight for skateboarders anywhere in israel and for the israeli lifestyle and spirit. Manifesto: THE STREET REVOLUTION is set for the promotion of Urban culture awarness in the state of israel. We see it as moral obligation to promote the interests of all us individuals that are engaged in Urban sports such as: Skatebording, BMX , Bicycles, Surfing etc. We see the recent developments as unresonable as Extreme sporting is becoming extremly popular in israel and many people are engaged in urban sports as well. Natrually we are the next generation to be in control over the politics in israel, So why do those older generation politicians mock our way of life repeatedly time after time??? Probably because they all think that we urban athletes are no good unemployed drug addicted/alcoholic hippies that wont move our buts to do anything to protect their rights and so they try to exploit us... well they havent met the Street Revolution yet!!! Yup those hippies that brought you SAVE THE KIKAR are out on a quest to save israel's young generation way of life. activities and events: THE STREET REVOLUTION will advance and promote all sorts of side projects related to urban culture in israel.
