Aisha is a Jamaican singer, rapper, songwriter, author, painter, producer and director.
She is owner of the independent music, film and literary label Sonustar. Her voice spans several octaves and covers every style from gospel to classical, R&B to rap.
Aisha is also a columnist. She is the writer behind the successful internet based Sound Off Column, read by millions around the world.
Her debut singles are titled "Contemporary Girl" and "The Greatest Of These Is Love."
She has recorded 5 CDs - Aisha, Aisha The Remixes, City Of Broken Dreams, Live Your Life and The Only Stars Are In The Sky.
Aisha is also a filmmaker who has produced and directed the forthcoming films “Live Your Life,†“City Of Broken Dreams†and “The Only Stars Are In The Sky.â€
She has directed the music videos Contemporary Girl, Contemporary Girl (Rap Remix), The Greatest Of These Is Love, The Peace Of My Heart, Incredible Girl, The Only Stars Are In The Sky, Time Boogie, Miami Night, Hollywood Stinks and The Scene.
She is additionally an author, who has penned eight books containing both her literary and photographic works. The books she has written are Peace, Poetic Heart, London, Miami, Contemporary Girls, Beauty, 50 Reasons Why Hollywood Stinks and Cooking Good Looking Good.
She hails from Jamaica's prominent, international award winning Goodison family. Her father is the highly acclaimed, award winning musicologist and disc jockey, Vaughn "Bunny" Goodison, well known for his vast knowledge of music. He was also an international soccer player - one of the youngest to ever play for Jamaica. He is also active in Jamaican politics.
Two generations of the Goodison family have played soccer for the Jamaican national team, now affectionately known as the Reggae Boyz.
Her aunts are the international award winning playwright and radio personality Barbara Gloudon and Jamaica's Poet Laureate Lorna Goodison, author of over 8 books.
Aisha’s English great-great grandfather, William Harvey, established the popular, enduring Jamaican town, Harvey River, which bears her grandmother’s maiden name.
She is also a descendant of the Maroons, one of Jamaica's earliest settlers, who emancipated black people on the island. The Maroons, who are natural musicians, made a big impact on Jamaica, in a legacy that continues to this day.
Aisha's rich cultural heritage and multi-national influences are reflected in her diverse music, films and books.
