Lazy Bones

About Me

As a young boy, James was raised on a staple diet of soul and funk and was much loved. His feet began to grow, as did the rest of him, James realised that the only passion he had was to be found in music. Over the following years he set out to discover many different types and styles of music and made a great many friends along the way.

At the age of fifteen, James was sucked into the south london scene of the time, Garage. He began DJing and brushing up his mixing skills on his trusty belt drive turntables. By 2001, the UK garage scene had morphed into a moody unrecognisable load of dark crap and the fun was gone. James was bored of standing there waiting for the oportunity to mix the next track, and so discovered the art of turntablism

Once reaching the ripe age of eighteen, James invested in a pair of Vestax PDX2000 with Shure M447s and a PMC05. Things would never be the same again. This new love of scratching naturally led into a world of Hip-Hop culture and a very different approach to record shopping. Once able to piece together some tidy cuts, James found he could bring toghether many different genres of music in one set. James went about droping mixed bag sets wherever he was playing educating the masses with eclectic taste.

After many squandered education opportunities the one constant in life was music. He decided to get into production and see what he could lay down, hoping to fuse together his many loved styles. . .

Recently James has achieved a distintion in creative music production, as well as building a home studio based around Logic Pro7.

Since starting his DJ career at Old Street's infamously cool Dragon Bar, Lazy Bones had played to many jumpin crowds across London incuding The Winchester (Angel), Plan B (Brixton), Market Place (Oxford Circus), Boxfresh (Covent Garden) Zigfid Underbelly (Hoxton), Eclipse (West Hamstead), Consortium (Bournemouth) and Orange Rooms (Southampton) to name a few. You can expect to see him regularly at his current residencies at The Winchester (Angel), Tree House (Croydon), The Avalon (Balham) and The Lodge Tavern (Ealing). Keep posted for dates.

James is looking for vocalists, emcees and other producers to collaborate with, so get connected!......
