About Me

Whats hood everybody. My name is Dcal and this music page is dedicated to my collective fams movement in the music industry. And NO!, I'm not fucking all the girls on my page, i'm not a man-whore...I'm from nyc, there's more girls outside then on myspace...not here for that. Some of you I know personally and some of you I met on here, but its all good. I say that to say...some of you know the struggle and some of you are just now becoming a part of it with us.
In no particular order I'd like to introduce you to some folks who have influenced my life greatly. But before I do that, i want to take some new flix so I can take down the half ass naked one i have up.
Me, formally I'm introducing myself...My name is D-Cal. I had the nickname from childhood and its stuck. My boy Shai who you see in my top friends list later added the caliber bullets part and it stuck as well. About me, lets see..I started making beats when I couldn't find any. So i got a keyboard and started making 'em myself. One thing lead to another and it has become one of my greatest loves. I been making beats since I was 11 yrs old. I been rapping even longer than that of course. My best man/rap parter/best freind, died in 1999 (rip md). And then soon after my other best man, Devon (wolf) Clarke, passed like a year later. Followed by another childhood friend, big Snoz. Ever since then it seems like I just been off course when it comes my first love, this music. I mean, I know MD wants me to do it, shit he even told me how to do it as far as getting the music out there. Some of which yall will see in the coming future. We, as a collective, mentally geared ourselves up to give it a go not too long after the string of setbacks, when Pop (R.I.P) soon came home and passed in an untimely fashion. I don't want to give yall the blues, I'm giving myself the blues right now. But check out where I'm coming from.
The first one up there right now is a mixtape joint me and Shai did for J Amrz callled "Murderer". Check it out. It's downloadable, so if you feelin' it..go ahead and put it on ya ipod, rock out. Big ups to J Armz too for blessing us. You know how certain things and items have memories associated with them, we had a crazy ass night and thats what Im gonna remember when I hear that joint. But yea, Big Ups J, yall check him out...NYC's Numba 1 mixtape dj.
The second song up there is a song called "my life". It's a song that is significant to all of us. Me and Dibiasi sat down together and wrote the hook for that one. I remember it just rolled off the top, real easy like. I said one line, he finished it and vice versa. Before the last time Silv went away, we got Silv in on the hook part to pair up wit Dibi. That was cool cause Dibi is Snoz's little brother and Silv is his best man. So it seemed perfect that they do the hook together with the subject of the song being what it was. Thats an around the way favorite.
The third song on my profile right now is a song called "I Got You". Its a song I did the hook on, with my boy Don Silv. Silv was Snoz's best man/partener ect, before his tradgic death. So that song is sentimental to me being that we both share the same dreams, and lost our right hand and partner in this life and music thing. As a matter of fact, it should be said that the term "murderville" was coined in my crib in the heights where we used to record. Silv and them started saying it and it caught on. That was when there was no recording studios around the way. Lol, thats when I was never in school after 5th period cause we was at my crib with the 4 track machine. Me, Danger (dangerous musik on here check em out), snoz, silv, shai mo b, dibiasi, maga, clive n jerry, b.o. n chris, damn near the whole 3rd ave it seemed like was up in there seem like. Even rhamel, whose doing his thing right now in the music, I don't want to exclude anybody.
The fourth song up there is by Luvdoe, yall definatey gotta check it, shits hard, its a hit song. The fifth one up there as of now is with my dudes, "Propa Boi's". I met them last winter and they literally came in the studio and did two songs, and 2 hits. I mean, each song was a hit. So we team now and I want to give a special shout out to them and they whole team out in the"A". They got talent. Me and Shai featured on the song with them.
I'm going to put more material up for yall. Thats all you got for right now though. I spent a better part of the time providing my energies behind the scenes for others. I feel like its time to step out from behind the iron curtain and do something about now though. I don't know, the time just feels right. I want to thank everyone that is pitching in to help this go be a success. Some of you I put on my toplist and others of you can't fit, plus I know yall dont really care no way. I tried to restrict it to people that gotta hustle they pushin' aka all pushermans. So in the short term future you're going to hear more from me and the rest of the team. This is not even the beginning, we just lining our ducks in a row right now. I'm in it for the love, I'm gettin paid "irreguardless", thats neither here nor there. I can't mention all the friends that are with us anymore without sendin' a big rest in peace shout out to Shebe...you already know. You know its the usual suspects, Me, Dcal, my boy danger, shai mo b, silver bullets and mike dibiasi just to name a few. We in this and we goin hard.
