I'm Sid J. the next young gun of comedy. I've always been funny but now I'm making a career out of it.I realized my talent for comedy in my college years performing for college students. Now that I have graduated I have the opportunity to fully commit to my craft. I dont just consider myself a comedian, but an all around entertainer. I began doing comedy as a final speaking project in one of my communication classes in 2005. My professor said that this was our last assignment for the year and to do something we have always wanted to do. I would think to myself that "I would love to try stand-up comedy" so thats what I did. I did really well and it was then I knew I wanted to pursue this comedy thing further. Some months later I entered my first comedy competition at NIU and I came in first place. So I did another show at NIU called the Apollo. It was like the one in New York with the same rules which meant that if I didn't do well the crowd could boo me off stage and the sandman would come out and do what he does. Well needless to say, I didn't get booed off stage I actually won first place. I began to catch the attention of promoters and was getting offered to do more shows than I could handle to the point to where I had to turn down shows. Later in 2007 I entered Chicago's Power 92 annual Katt Williams Katt Off Comedy Competition. I made it to the final round and came in 2nd place. In 2008 I moved to Atlanta Georgia to further pursue my career in entertainment. So to sum it all up, I feel comedy and music has the ability to change how a person feels. Whatever is going on in your life, a good laugh can brighten up your day. And that's my overall goal. A lot of people are focused on what they can get and it should be about what one can give. The money and success will come. The ability to give people the joy of laughter through song and jokes is a blessing and a gift that I enjoy sharing with the world.Sid J.
