I'm a professional MMA fighter, part time osteopathy student, mum to Luis (nearly 3), writer and sports therapist.
I did a maths degree at Cambridge and then a PhD before deciding that I didn't want to spend the next 40 years of my life sat behind a desk.
I've been involved in martial arts of one sort or another since being 13, eventually finding my way into MMA after seeing a documentary on TV and realising that although I knew a lot of techniques, I still had no idea whether I could actually fight.
I train at Straight Blast Gym in Manchester, and I write a monthly column in Fighters Only.
I got into osteopathy via my interest in sports injuries (learnt the hard way). Saw a great osteopath in Manchester who inspired me, and I decided that I wanted to be able to do that. Several years later, the opportunity came up so I grabbed it. I'm currently in my second year (of five) at Oxford Brookes and (mostly) loving it. Can't believe I walked around in this body for over 20 years without having the faintest idea how it worked or what was inside.
Oh, and this page is a work in progress. Expect it to change at irregular intervals, depending on my mood.
