Malibu SurfSkates

Owner and Creator of Malibu SurfSkates is Dave Hackett. Dave grew up surfing and skating in Malibu California from 1969 as a young "grom" ripping up the waves at first Point Malibu and schoolyard banks at Malibu Park Jr. High, Kenter, Bellagio and Paul Revere Jr. High schools with the infamous Z-Boys. As a young SurfSkater, Dave's influences now and back in the day are Larry Bertlemann, for his low-slung stylish hard driving cut backs, off the tops and bottom turns and Gerry Lopez, for his flawless style and supreme tube riding dominance.As a Super Stoked SurfSkate Grommet, Dave spent many days and years carving down the long hills of Malibu's winding canyon roads tucking into bushtubes, and slashing Bertlmann turns ("Berts") off banked driveways and roadside ditches on his way to Topanga Point, or Malibu Point to meet his bros and Surf all day. Dave's skateboards back in those days were early hand shaped decks made in woodshop class at Malibu Park, set up with crude trucks and loose ball bearing urethane wheels-Today, Dave Hackett is proud to offer his Malibu SurfSkate "Bert Machine, bringing that same Stoke of 30 years ago to every Surf Crazed Skater and Skate Crazed Surfer!
