About Me

My name is Veljko Arsic. Since i was born i had this excelent guitar at my home. It is a Gibson Les Paul Pro Model which i love very much. I've started playing the guitar when i was about 10. Before that, i had a large piano, but the guitar had more value to me so i started playing it instead. First, my dad showed me few chords, because it was hes guitar and he was also in a band called The Daimonds(Dijamanti). Then, on my mothers request, i was sent to the Music School. I had a bad teacher there, so i lost will to pley the guitar and quit the music school in a first mounth, because i wasn't making any progress. Then i the 1999, the boming of my country began. I was sent with my little sister to a small willage to my family who live there for protective reason. First mounth was devastating to me. So the only thing that could calm me down was the guitar. So then i asked my futher to bring the Yamaha acoustic guitar to me. From that point on i've never stoped playing the guitar... There were, how ever, some periods when i couldn't play any more. I was like:" Oooh i cannot do this any more, i'm not inspired by anything!!!". Then I discovered Steve Morse. The only reason why i started to play the guitar was becouse of my two inspirations. My father and Ritchie Blackmore, but the main reason why i continued to play the guitar was Steve Morse. My first band, that i still love is Deep Purple. But when i bought a CD "Deep Purple - Live in Olimpya 96" i though that it was played by the Blackmore! Few years i bought the Purpledicular album, and on its back side was not Ritchie Blackmore as i expected, but Steve Morse. The first thing whay inspired me more was his way of playing the song "When the blind man cries", and then the song "Sometimes i feel like screaming". I was so inspired by it that it took me 3 years to finaly be able to play it like he does, you know like, using his right hand and index finger to play the main melody. Since then my life changed. I started playing all kinds of styles, blending them with my own and the style of Steve Morse. My styles are rock, blues, jazz, metal, pop, folk, bluegras, clasical,... so whole bunch of styles. Every thing that can make me play various melodies, like arpegios. The most funny thing was how i started playin' blues! I have this friend who was a Malmsteen freak. And then he one day quited playing the guitar and started doing as a computer DJ. So hes older brother wanted to show him that he could make a better song that his brother made on a computer. And one day he came to me and said :" Veljko, how would you like you and me to make a blues song?!". First i thoug he was kiding but i took it seriously and started playing the blues. That projct never saw the light but I still play the blues. From then i've played with so many school bands, with folk guys and bands(becaous there are more folk, turbo folk bands in our town), but it didn't made me play the folk music as it is today. So as you can see, since then i'm still playing my guitar. I have 3 electric guitars and 2 acoustic guitars, two amps, and bunch of guitar pedals. I'm playing for 11 years and i won't be quiting it for a long time! Now i'm a student of law, secound year, and thats that for now.More infos of my bio will be added and updated soon... Rock on!
