Hailing from Philadelphia, Jon Coyle makes noise with lots of different things- piano, percussion, electronics, and vocals are a few. He likes good people and good food. Especially the food at Saad's (45th & Walnut). When not working alone, Jon is often spotted with Chris Coyle, his bass-playing fraternal twin. Also with Doug Hirlinger (percussion & various), Pat Lamborn (bass, guitar & various), and Matt Scarano (percussion). His music can at times be serene, reflective, earthy, screwy, or anything else, depending on who’s listening.  In 2009, he released Woods, a collection of instrumental songs peppered with sparse improv and ambient textures.  More recently, he has taken to sculpting sounds out of home-recorded improvisations and merging them with vocals. New sounds are on the way.
Jon has also worked with a number of Philadelphia projects and artists (including Gregg Mervine, Pete Angevine, John Swana, Anwar Marshall, and Keisha Hutchins) and has performed at The Tin Angel, Gojjo, Johnny Brenda's, The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, The Fuel Collective, and World Cafe Live, among other venues.
