About Me

I've been doing martial arts for 28 yrs and I teach martial arts to adults at my school Mann's Martial Arts, which is based in Dallas, TX. During the day I'm your typical 8-5 whitecollar type, and twice a week at night I get to do what I really love, teaching adults realistic self defense. We are more street oriented than sport oriented and we provide an intense aerobic workout.
We want our students to learn how to quickly defend themselves, without it taking 2-4 yrs to become good at that. Our classes are designed so that any adult can experience success at this, and not just those who are flexible or who are gifted athletes. We use the best techniques from 4 different styles.
Our students are in their 20's, 30's, and 40's and have constantly changing plans. Thus expecting them to show-up 4-5 days a week for in-class workouts is unrealistic. So we only run a 3 day/wk program with most students only attending class 2 days/wk, and prescribe home workouts for their days off. We believe that type of flexible training allows them to meet the demands of their constantly changing last minute obligations. We really are a different kind of school, making sure martial arts fits easily into an adults hectic lifestyle, instead of burdening it. Why workout at one of those schools that demands a certain number of workouts per week, thus adding additional stress or guilt to your life, if you realistically can't make it there that many times a week?
If you're in the Dallas area and thought about martial arts but never tried it, or you tried it somewhere and it didn't work out the way you'd hoped, we hope you'll consider our school. You can visit the school's website by clicking here .

Inspiring Quotes

I'd like to meet:

It may need to be a woman younger than myself who also has an active lifestyle and likes youthful activities. Someone that likes to try new things, have new adventures, likes spontaneity, understands guys and me, and we get along incredibly well. I have faith God is getting her ready for me and he'll make sure she shows-up when the time is right. No rush, because in the meantime I have plenty of things that keep me busy, so until then I'm gonna do those things, and occasionally party like a rockstar with my friends ;-)
