This explains among other things the human desire to be lazy. However all things bear fruit to one extent or another and it is the desire to be lazy that has led mankind down the evolutionary path to technological excellence. Most of mans advances from prehistoric to the present came about due to his desire to create a world or environment that makes life easier but he has done so at a cost. This cost can be summed up in one word ,complication. I believe that the complications of life today drive the average person further and further from the connection we have with our spirits. Everything in life is relevant ,for example: if you’ve never experienced cold or warm then hot has no meaning If you’ve never experienced bad then good has no meaning All things in life are appreciated by how much effort was put forth to gain them, in other words most things gained with no effort are rarely appreciated which brings me back to subject. Our advancements as mankind has been efforted by a few and enjoyed by all but truly appreciated by very few. We as people of our time take far to much for granted and at what cost? In the modern world effort is fast becoming a forgotten word therefore appreciation a lost thing. Our spirits are what is inside us that connects us with the things that are truly precious, that which separates us from the animals. The first that comes to mind is the sense of morality that all humans are born with but not all take to the grave with themselves. From the time we are very young we all have a certain understanding of right and wrong that we didn’t get from anything we are taught. You cant explain it its just there, that nagging little voice, we gave it a name: our conscience. As we grow older and more worldly we learn to compromise with our conscience, to justify. As time goes on we might learn to ignore our conscience, turning the blind eye so to speak. The most practiced of these exercises eventually doesn’t hear the voice we call conscience at all and loses all connection with his or her spirit. This individual has just become the most dangerous animal on the planet ,he lives for himself with no regard as to the effect he has on others whatsoever. Right and wrong is a matter of interpretation to be sure, what’s wrong for one might not be so for another. I believe this to be a true statement, not everyone has the exact understanding as the next person and circumstances may vary for example: A man comes home to find an intruder in his home threatening the safety of his family and kills him. Is this murder, I think not. The act of even murder is open for interpretation however crimes or wrongful acts against the spirit are not. So for the purpose of relativity we’ll call wrongful acts against the spirit, sin. I interpret sin as any act that is committed in the spirit of wrongdoing, in other words you do it even though you know it is wrong. Christianity teaches the wages of sin is death. Lets understand this for what it means, the penalty reflects the true depth of the act in other words to do something even though you know it is wrong is truly to betray your spirit and yourself. If you honestly believe that crossing the street anywhere but at the marked crossing is the wrong thing to do and you do it anyway then you have sinned . If you honestly believe that taking your neighbors car without permission is wrong and you do it anyway then you have sinned. If you honestly believe that taking your neighbors life for no good reason is the wrong thing to do and you do it anyway then you have sinned and the penalty for all of these acts is the same because in spirit the act itself was the same. In spirit you knew what you were about to do was wrong and did it anyway and for the act of betrayal towards yourself and your spirit you reap your reward. This understanding brings us to the conclusion that what’s wrong for one might not be wrong for another, Its simply a matter of an individuals beliefs. To be true to thy own self is the path to follow.Time is precious no two moments are alike, each is a memory never to be forgotten be they good or bad.As we grow older you hear more people say, including ourselves that time seems to accelerate. Time itself stays the same ,a minute is still a minute. However it is our reference of time that has changed as time goes on ,for instance : a small child cannot comprehend waiting for anything for a week, month, year because these increments of measurement are large portions of this Childs point of reference or his life, whereas they are nothing to an elderly individual who’s reference is much longer and these increments much smaller. This is why we suffer the illusion of accelerated time. Unfortunately most of we mortals don’t feel as such until so much of our precious time has passed without consideration as to the quality of its spending. When we are young we carry a sense of immortality, even when there are others passing away all around us. Its this sense of immortality that leads us to carry on as though there is always enough time left for us to make amends for our trespasses. As time goes on and the trespasses mount we file them further and further back in our memories and eventually hope they end up in the forgotten file. As we approach the end of our lives we search for the meaning of ourselves and try to embrace our mortality, often in doing so this file opens from time to time and haunts us. Some will find the courage to make amends for these trespasses while others will take them to their graves. Obviously we cant go all the way back to the beginning to make things right so we try to do the next best thing, we make peace with ourselves! Far greater than being forgiven by anyone is being forgiven by yourself. It is a gracious thing to go to the source of an infringement and ask to be forgiven but it is not necessary, let me explain : one has stolen from his neighbor and goes to him with a confession and asks to be forgiven but is denied, does this mean he is not forgiven? I don’t think so. The piece of mind gained from this action might be worth a lot to ones conscience but does not achieve the goal of reaching peace with yourself. Finding it in yourself to forgive yourself is the key to closing the file forgotten. We have the power to free ourselves from the shackles we have created for ourselves, we and only we...

We as human beings go about our days passing judgment on one another in a constant fluid effort driving ourselves on into the dark abyss of biased opinion with total disregard as to the fruits of these endeavors. I have come to believe that this road only narrows and limit’s the possibilities that one may get from life. Though it is not a bad thing or even an unwise one to judge the actions of our fellow human beings for the purpose of our own reference but to judge the person for the action is entirely another matter. I say that what my neighbor has done is foolish and not that my neighbor is a fool! One of the most extraordinary things about the human race is the diversity of it. We come in all shapes ,sizes, colors and tastes. Of course it is our nature to be drawn to congregate with others that share our own tastes and interests, but to draw the conclusion that ours is the only is to imprison ourselves in these self forged biases. We tend to close the doors on the opportunities that an open mind can bring. Our histories repeat themselves with wars and the conquering of those who are not like us or those that have what we want for ourselves. Sadly man kinds tendencies sway to the powerful in spite of the intelligent and the masses gather. The walls are put up to restrict the influence of the undesirable by the powerful in the hope that the intelligent cant infect the masses with reason, thus history repeats itself. We humans have a tendency to believe that ours and our way is the righteous, breeding indifference. Indifference in turn breeds intolerance and the need for the powerful becomes apparent. During these processes we lose sight in the fact none are perfect, better or have all the facts. We get caught up in the emotion and fervor of self righteousness and close our minds to the endless possibilities of the open mind. In passing judgment on one another we turn our backs on the piece of the puzzle each has to offer the other leaving the whole picture undiscovered. In disagreement it is wise to offer opinion to shed new light, confrontation is the fruit of argument and seeds the need for the powerful. The hypocritical use weapons of ones past against them the whole time standing behind the fragile and transparent blind they have built with falsehoods and deception, using the hope of diverted attention that they are not discovered. It is wise to be wary the finger pointer, he is only trying to turn your attentions. Every person that I have ever met has a skeleton or two in the closet that they would prefer was left there to rot. In the spirit of brotherhood I believe that the chance of finding brotherly love far out weighs the importance of these secrets. I have also found that when two people have gained a closeness that is spiritual they will shed light on these secrets in an attempt at two things. The first is the attempt to gain absolution from our fellow human beings, a form of forgiveness though selfish in nature it is very important to the confessor. The second thing is to show proof of the trust that has been built between the two, this is the most important of the two because it will strengthen the bond between the two.
