I am a multi instrumental kinda guy, currently specializing in accordion, and stringed instruments like the Warr Guitar.I am currently working as a sideman for the phenominal singer Nicki Jaine.Also still active is the jam-band 'Three Hour Detour'. Band Members: Ray Ashley: Accordion/etc.I play accordion for Nicki Jaine and for Box 5.I tap on guitars with Three Hour Detour.And, when I get a chance, I am always up for a 'free form jazz odyssey'!
Influences: God Street Wine, T2, Ben Folds, Bjork, JJ Johnson, Carl Nielsen, Trey Gunn, Vladislav Zolotaryov, and many others, especially all my teachers through the years: Frank Jolliffe, Daniel Schell, Lidia Kaminska, Erica Azim, and Faith Kline.
Sounds Like: The great thing about the accordion is that it can sound like so many things, and fit into so many styles. Right now I am doing a lot of cabaret music but I'll also be playing jazz, pop, rock, experimental, and other styles.
