Getting old sucks!! I no longer work for anyone but my family! ( I like retirement ) As all banjo players, I always look for a better Gibson banjo. I record for Dale Allen of Genuine Cow Hide records, in Austin Tx.
Now with a new band Allen Hurt & the Mountain Showmen! Lots of great bluegrass!

I started out in Virginia and listened to a lot of bluegrass as my family liked it and played it! Mom sang alto and got me started very young, A few years later I got a banjo from a hock shop and later ended up with a good old Mastertone!(I stiil play the same one) A banjo player named Smitty Erwin showed me my first lick,Ben Eldridge showed me a few licks, and Jeff Kimble gave me a bunch of lessons, I have been working on and trying to learn since! (some progress)
