Folk musician, dancer, and singer - mostly within the Danish and Irish traditions. I play the bodhrán as my primary instrument, bones and spoons as secondaries, and have Irish harp and singing/vocals as tertiary instruments. I perform and have performed in several constellations ( ROD and Folkets Hus Spillefolk being the most regular ones). I've also recently (Q4 2006) joined an Irish folk punk band, called Rovers Ahead. We're still probing around, but stay tuned! ;)
Apart from my performing, I'm involved with music behind the scenes as well, mostly through my work in the board of M&U (the Danish national organisation of JMI ), through JMI directly (sitting in the ComCom and Ethno Working Group), and locally through my involvement with Folkets Hus Spillefolk. Apart from this, I'm arranging FOD 2007 and have arranged ROD 2005 - two folk music seminars for young musicians (16 to 30 and 15 to 25, respectively) and have been a member of the board of FMS from 2005 to 2007. I have recently become a "Culture Scout" for Dagbladet Arbejderen (The Worker), which means that I will be reviewing folk music CDs, concerts, festivals, etc.
I'm also working on some meta-music databases - mostly on MusicBrainz , where I have taken on the mission of making it the most complete online database for Danish folk music (or at least my definition of Danish folk music =)).
