This is a PROMOTIONAL site !
Mission Statement:
This site's sole purpose is to bring together different musicians with diverse musical styles, and to open up the lines of communication between them. My belief is that music can act as a bridge between cultures promoting peace and friendship, and the understanding, or at least the acknowledgement, of other styles of music, both old and new, is an important step to musical fulfillment.
My site is dedicated to bringing talented creative people together in a synergistic way and promoting friendship. It is not a commercial enterprise.
Inspiration generates inspiration. It gives of itself to whatever it touches.

Wayne Gerard Trotman (born in Trinidad, West Indies) is an artist, writer, composer, music producer, photographer and filmmaker.
His interest in recording began in the late 60’s, when he convinced his Aunt to record the soundtrack from his beloved television show ‘Thunderbirds’ on a reel-to-reel recorder. If he could not watch a repeat of the show, at least he could listen to the dialogue, music and sound effects until the next episode a week later.
This practise would help develop storytelling skills and a deep appreciation for music. He considers the soundtrack composers of his favourite television programs: Barry Gray (Stingray, Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet) and John Williams (Lost in Space, Land of the Giants) to be amongst his biggest influences.
An interest in drawing, painting and photography also developed in the late 60’s and his parents, realising that he had an interest in music, offered him the opportunity of private lessons in either piano or violin. Trotman was not interested in these instruments, which he felt were not as exciting as the electric guitar. Later he would be given a nylon string guitar but by then this no longer interested him.
By the age of 6, Trotman was experimenting with recoding on reel-to reel tape. He would record stories in which he would perform all the dialogue and create sound effects.
In 1972 he listened to the single ‘Popcorn’ by Hot Butter constantly marvelling at the futuristic, electronic sounds he heard. Then in 1978, at the age of 14, Trotman heard Jean Michel Jarre’s ‘Equinox Part 5’ and was totally impressed. He had to have a synthesiser!
Experiments with tape loops, overdubbing and most notably the creation of rhythms using only feedback continued.
In 1979 he received a Casio VL-1 also known as a Casio VL-Tone and Trotman began to teach himself music.

The Casio VL-1 was extremely limited and his initial exploits in music creation were very frustrating. In 1981 during his second trip to New York he received a Casiotone MT-70 and began to produce compositions recorded using two cassette recorders and a mono echo recorder.
By 1983 he had produced at least 200 experimental, often bizarre, home recordings. Trotman had also studied History and Art. He had won the Presentation College Art prize in two consecutive years (the only pupil in the college’s history to achieve that) as well as winning national art prizes in Trinidad. His paintings were either acrylics or (later) oils. Photographs of his work were submitted to the prestigious Heatherly College of Fine Art in Chelsea, London and he won a place to study art and design.
In 1984 Trotman moved to England to study art and design. Within a month, his work was accepted for the London Youth Festival exhibition and he was featured in both the Caribbean Times and West Indian world newspapers.
In 1985 he purchased his first ‘professional’ keyboard – the Roland JX-3P and this instrument has featured in virtually all his compositions since that time. A notable recording at this time was the original version of the track ‘Red Moon’. The name Red Moon was also adopted as an alias. A line in the Book of Revelation and the perceived threat of nuclear holocaust inspired the track.
But the real transition to professional musician came with the addition of the Ensoniq SQ-80 synthesiser in 1988, swiftly followed by the addition of an Ensoniq Mirage sampler and Alesis HR-16 drum machine.
By 1992 Trotman had produced several compositions for British Sky Broadcasting (Sky Television) but though financially lucrative he gained no real recognition, as his trailer and promo work for Sky remains unaccredited.
In 1994, Trotman completed his second feature film script entitled ‘Ashes to Ashes’ and in 1995 his short film ‘London Metropolis of the Future’ was accepted over 400 entries to be part of the British Short Film Festival. The haunting track ‘Atmosphere Part 1’ recorded several years earlier, left an indelible impression on viewers.
In 1999 Wayne Gerard Trotman directed, co-produced, scored and edited Britain’s first martial arts movie – Ashes to Ashes. He also played the film’s lead role of Gabriel Darbeaux and used real martial arts weapons including the two-piece rod. Though Trotman’s original script suffered from an exceptionally low budget and inhumane shooting schedule (the entire film was shot in 12 days a spanned 25 locations in London and Surrey) the film gained a positive response.

In 2000, Ashes to Ashes won ‘Best Film’ and ‘Best Trailer’ BT Getoutthere as a result of votes from members of the public. In 2003 it was aired on Sky Television to audiences in the Caribbean, Africa and Europe in excess of 5 million.
Mike Leeder - respected author, producer and Hong Kong cinema guru described ‘Ashes to Ashes’ in Impact Magazine April 2006 issue, as featuring ‘- a very complex script weaving several stories and plot points together with some very dark humour and unpredictable twists and turns.’ He added, ‘If you're in the mood for an offbeat tale of martial arts, Guy Ritchie'esque gangsters and an entertaining film, then Ashes to Ashes is well worth tracking down’
Also in 2006, Trotman co-produced ‘The Trip-Wire Solution: Understanding and Combating Anxiety’.

THE RETURN OF BROTHER THEODORE
Theodore Gottlieb was a New York comic from Bavaria, once imprisoned in Dachau and forced to sell his family's estate to the Nazis for a single Deutschmark. Part Edgar Allen Poe, part Dracula, this prince of darkness built a standup act (described as 'standup tragedy') on lunatic, pointless rants that flipped reasoned logic on a griddle and fried it until scorched. A bit player in movies and a voice-over artist, Gottlieb also appeared on 'The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson' as well as 'Late Night With David Letterman' until his death in 2001. Because of his pre-goth dark turtleneck, Joey Bishop dubbed him Brother Theodore, and actor Robert Trebor reincarnates Gottlieb in a 45-minute late-night solo performance that paints Brother Theodore's belligerent reflections on a twisted life with broad yet powerful comedic strokes. A squat, impish man with bushy eyebrows, Trebor points out victims in the dark theater with a flashlight. He hit on the woman next to me, who was squinting in the flashlight's beam while the comedian, with a thick German accent, laid on ludicrously anachronistic and crude pickup lines, accompanied by a relentless glare. He also launched into an extended soliloquy on the folly of eating. ("All dead civilizations ate food, and look where they are now!";a cautionary tale to be sure.) "It's better not to be born, but who is as lucky as that!", Brother Theodore rails, along with the joke that lies at this show's heart: "If not for my madness, I would have gone insane years ago."

In response to requests I'd like to take a minute just to outline what would be required of you, the "Featured Artist Of The Week", to help me out helping you out with a little advertising.
I am an "equal opportunity featurer", meaning I will take from all and every sphere of music, from death metal to Tibetan chanting. I also feature any other fine art as well.
It doesn't matter if it's your first recording made in your garage, or if you're a rock superstar, or anywhere in between. If I think it has potential, basically I'll feature it. And once you're featured it doesn't mean I won't feature you again; in fact I plan to re-feature quite often in the future.
If you are picked to be featured, and you agree to it, please be aware of a couple of things: If you are signed to a label, or have signed a contract regarding your music, know what your rights are to the material. If you are allowed to give out material, or are not signed, please be available to send me the materials I'll need. If you do not have a ton of material, no worries. Send me what you can. I will detail some of the things you will need to send me below:
1. I'll need four songs in mp3 format, ready to post to Myspace. I unfortunately do not have music editing software. If requested I will delete the files once your feature is completed. Please inform me if you wish to be rated, allow downloads, etc.
2. Send me any images you have, preferably 600 pixels wide or smaller, but I'll take anything unless it distorts the site's symmetry.
3. A background of the artist(s) in any form you wish. A bio of each member would be helpful too, doesn't have to be long. If you're a new act you might not have a lot of gig banter, so put in some personal history, favorite instrument, influences, whatever you wish. I can assist in proof-reading, so don't worry too much about spelling ;)
4. If you are a working act, add some upcoming dates, CD releases, radio/TV appearances, etc.
5. If you have a manager, or someone who can help me out while you're doing your thing, please forward me his/her email and/or phone number. It will likely be the most efficient way to get things done for both of us.
In light of the fact that I change acts each Saturday, I am forced to have a deadline to submit material. If I'm unable to get the minimum I absolutely need to create the feature (ie. less than four songs) I will be forced to pull your feature, thereby inconveniencing myself greatly and disappointing your fanbase. If you know you cannot supply me with the required minimum LET ME KNOW ASAP so we can reschedule.
I am presently working on a little "featured song of the week" banner that I will be giving out to artists whom have been featured on the site, perfect to add to your own Myspace page if you wish!
If I need something I didn't mention here I'll contact you as soon as I can. Likewise, if you want to submit something that I haven't mentioned, either send it along and I'll make the judgement call or contact me and we'll talk it over!
Have a great day !
