The GS6 were formed around 1995 or '96 in Perth, Western Australia.
The band went through a number of line up changes over the years,
mostly guitar players coming and going back and forth.
They lasted up until 2000 when the different members all went and
did different things in different cities. Gareth Liddiard and Rui Pereira
went on with Warren Hall and James McCann to become the first line
up of the Drones. James McCann then formed the Lowdorados and later
the Dirty Skirts. Warren Hall went on to play with the Volcanics and M16's.
Brendon Humphries and Steve Joines formed the Kill Devil Hills and
Maurice Flavel started MF And His Truckload Of Hope.
The GS6 only ever released one independent self titled EP(whose most
notable fan was John Peel of the BBC) while they were still playing together.
But now, in 2007, they plan to release a Very Fucking Long Player Record
that includes released and unreleased songs from the EP sessions
plus many more songs from their various recording sessions and recordings
of their insanely loud and intense live shows.
