Stig Sjøstrøm lives in the small town Stathelle in Telemark.
He studied percussion at the Music Conservatory in Caen and at the Norwegian State Academy of Music in Oslo.
In 2000 he got to know the composer and saxophone player Guttorm Guttormsen, and soon started a collaboration that's still going on.
He also collaborates with the slide guitarist Daniel Eriksen and has recorded and toured with him for some time.
He joined Telemark Messingkvintett in 2007, and a cd from this ensemble arrived in january 2009.
Latley he has had the pleasure working on different project with great artists and institutions such as Grenland Friteater, Teater Ibsen, Telemarkkonsertar, NRK, Knut Buen, Vidar Busk, Frode Kvisvik, Al deLoner, KÃ¥re Virud and Rolf Erichsen.
