Hollowpoint Militia is a rock band from Jacksonville Beach, Florida. The band was founded by two friends (guitarist) Cameron Purdue and (drummer) Brent Berryman. The two kids met in high school and started jamming covers for open mic shows around town. They played for nothing but fun for a while, jamming out with many different musicians. The duo started jamming with Sean Casey, a neighbor and high school friend. Sean was a guitar player but swapped out to play bass for the band as a three piece. The trio played out more open mic shows as "Peregrine". This was the name of the street that Cameron lived on and where the band practiced everyday. After playing a series of instrumental open mic shows, the band was getting anxious for vocals. They tried many different vocalist but none fit. The band started to fade. Still, a determined trio jammed on until one day David Bazzell came to the Peregrine house one day. Just because, they played sets of Alice in Chains songs as well as original Peregrine material, which are now songs for the band that they created. They started playing out to see what people thought and to get a response. The band changed there name to "Hollowpoint Militia" minutes before taking the stage. It was always stuck in the back of Cameron's head, he suggested it. David responded with "Thats our name". And thats that. After playing for bars, they received a very positive response from club owners, and decided to immediately record a demo, which is what you are hearing right now.
