Eye. began in the winter of 2006 with a somewhat experimental guitar player looking for new ways to get the ideas out of his head and turn them into music. After some solo experimentation, this little project grew into a band, with the addition of bass player Kwinten and drummer Tom. Together they attempted to transform the drone-like solo act into an atmospheric and psychedelic rock and metal band.
When the first songs started to grow in the new three-piece band setup, Eye. began looking into vocals, but both Bert (grunt vocals) and Evy (clean vocals) eventually left the band due to matters such as family, college, and the general condition of having a busy life.
Fortunately the three piece guitar-bass-drums, as always, survived. Recently a second guitar-player was found with Stijn, and now Eye. is moving forward into new territory, expanding its range with more melodic instrumentals on one hand, and more hardcore and metal influences on the other hand.
Eye. started as an experimental solo project and stays true to those origins, structuring songs in ways far beyond the limited reach of main-stream rock and metal. In this way, we combine ideas, sounds and techniques from the broad genre-collection often called “post rock†with those of psychedelic and progressive metal, sludge, hardcore and post-core.
We also try to distinguish ourselves by not adhering too much to one uniform sound, trying to make each song sound very different from the others and not lose touch with the many influences and backgrounds we have.
The name "Eye." originates in the idea that music can accompany images or that it can create visual impressions for the listeners.

Jeroen also plays guitar for Dissociety and "TGMAH!". Kwinten also plays bass with Battery Low, Some Pedestrians and Linus & Lucy. Tom also plays drums for Yellowbyrd. Bert formerly did vocals for Throne.
