Well, my name is Criss.
I am 23. I run my own mag, called U.M.S Magazine focusing on the underground side of Drum and Bass, the artists, producers, DJ's, MC's. Anyone thats trying to get themselves out there with their talent, too much wasted, pretty much the main reason for U.M.S being born.
Things are slowly sorting themselves out now and it wont be long.
I Love my Partner, more than the world! Garron , owns a Records Shop: Dirty Needle Records, in Bletchley, Milton Keynes.
I help G in the shop, also. Now owning Dirty Needle Recordings, theres a lot more on our plates so I am also Press and Promotions Manager FOR Dirty Needle Recordings.
Handling everything to do with PR both for Label and Garron personally as a DJ.
I LOVE ANY rave. Legal-Illegal. Been goin since I was around 16, more illegal events at first, with a massive gang of best mates, was brilliant times, soooo funny. We all put in for a rig, did a few legal under 18 events, cos we were under 18, lol, got some money together to make a BIG FAT RIG. And we started doing our own proper Rave's. We got these speakers, 5ft tall, kick out 1k each, sommat like that. The bloke custom made 30 of them. Only. 26 went straight to Germany and 4 went to us. They were/are LUSH, You'll see them actually as Pete from AudoiWall Soundsystems has got them now, If you go to Bassment Lounge you'll see them there, lovely things.
Mahooosive rig actually thinking back now. Probs bout 15K I think, maybe more. Used to do free parties with Survival, Reckless, Distortex. All sorts of crew's, people, all sorts of places. Good times. I think people just grew up really so things just I dunno...Peeps got tired I think. It's a LOT of effort doing a Rave and there's a lot of risk, just for YOUR things fuck what the O.B say or DO. Your records, decks n speakers will be thrown into a van and burnt. lol. Would you wanna risk that week in week out?
ANYWAY HERE IT IS.
I mix Drum and Bass. I like the dirtier sounds in DnB, LOVE Noisia, Renegade, Prolix, Virus, Quarantine, Hardware.
But at the same time I LOVE me Dub style DnB, with J Frequency, Potential Badboy, Benny Page, Visionary.
LOVE all that, just nice easy DnB, Through a rig on a Summers Day, what would be better than that!
Alright, thinking about it I love ALL DnB, I can appreciate everything. I have always loved anything Blues, Jazzy, Bassy. Hip Hop and DnB have been a passion for a good long while. I've always hated Garage, always.
But then again, I been listening to some Bassline? Stuff?
Like T2, DJQ????? and ummmm some other peeps I dont know too much about it, cos I havent really given it the time of day but lately I been hearing some proper heavy beats and tunes. So I might get some to have a mix with, I bet its fun to mix, its all bouncy and surely it can't be that hard can it???? The whole art of mixing goes out the window with garage, in my opinion, just a bunch of Bryan G's. Swiiiitch ;0D! So prove me wrong someone!
Theres looooooads of people I cant think of who I love and like for what they do....too much weeeeed lol I know who they are, when I remember anyway...
I love my friends, obviously they know who they are...I love them all, they are my non blood family. My Brothers and Sisters.
I love reading, I've always collected books, collect first editions, first pressings. Almost like having to have a tune on promo, u got first pressing of a first edition, it aint a bad thing Depending what book it is, lol ;0).
I'm readin about 3 books at the moment, I like skippin between them, findin out whats goin on in the next story. Then skip back to the other one.
Fun, I got loads of books. If its readable, I will read it! lol Can't help it.
I'm probably one of the MOST laid back girls you'll meet in your life! lol. I can sit for hours and not say a word but it don't mean I'm stressed or don't like who I'm with...I just aint talkin cos I cant be arsed. I sit and listen and absorb, and I am anything BUT a fool. I see things in people others don't (it's wierd, but it's true). Which is handy when your trying to judge peeps.
I love anything scatty and having interesting conversations about pretty much ANYTHING in the whole world.
I love watching people doing things, it's really fun especially when noone thinks they're being watched.
I love watching people dance infront of rigs at parties. It's great, specially when trippin. Thers 350 peeps all dancin then theres a break! EVERYONE STOPS! and it drops in and EVERYONES GOING AGAIN! So much fun to watch man! I could sit in silence all day if I wanted to and would be just as happy if someone was sat next to me talkin shite all day.
I like looking at art and feeling things, clothes, hair, paint, other things, hahaa.
I like knowing how things are done. I like knowing things that others dont know.
When asked random questions, I'll probs know the answer....
I like reading the dictionary and saying different words, words that noone really uses anymore,
I like looking at old buildings knowing that someone ages ago worked really fucking hard to create that one little bit and its still there 400 years later, old stuff is great. Actual Human Crafmanship, not some nutty machine that thinks its gonna rule the world. I love Fine Art as thats the same thing....
I love history and anything to do with it. I love looking at antiques and think where they've been and who owned them before.
I like walking places and having adventures, especially on acid.
I like thinking about things generally. I like getting really messy and scruffy ;0) I like climbing things and making things, I'm good at fixing things. I like not doing anything for days. I like being alive.
I love being alive.
I LOVE anything to do with being alive...breathing, n all that sorta thing, I like yawning and stretching, a good stretch ya cant beat. LUSH. Specially when your well comfy in bed. mmmmmmmmm. And sneezing REALLY loud (Obviously not in the middle of a shop and over people, lol) I like goin for pee when I'm REALLY desperate, and umm having baths and being in water is great.
