Hi! How ya goin?
So I just finished my job as an English & Drama teacher and now I'm going to Hillsong International Leadership College to train as a youth pastor, which has been a goal for a very long time. Hooray! I love... Jesus, funny people, the beach, music and learning to do new things. Last year I learnt to skateboard and some nine-year-old at Cherrybrook skate park tried to teach me to drop in. I got k.o'd and fractured my cheekbone.
My scariest experience as a teacher was when I was on play ground duty and some of my year ten boys set the basketball court on fire and the entire school came running.
This year I'm finally a Wildlife leader, which is so much fun (: It's similar to teaching in many ways, cept I don't have to pretend to be annoyed as often. Jokes. Teachers are great. Go hug a teacher. Nah, I'm really excited about bein involved with all the stuff that Wildlife does in local schools and around the place. Like The Den... which is a youth drop in at Castle Hill. And our Theatresports group... we just moved locations to church on Friday afternoons. If you like making stuff up on the spot in front of people and you think you're funny, have a look at the theatresportunderground mySpace page on my Friends list, or shoot me a message and come along! And if you haven't been to Wildlife, just do it, its fully sick bra. No seriously, actually seriously, Wildlife was what really defined who I am (back in the day when I went to High School.) cos it challenged me to believe what I'd always suspected; that if God is real he's the most important thing in the world, and if I'm gonna live a good life, may as well be the best I can be, and if all the bible says is true, then amazing things are possible. So since then I've tried to live black & white for God, and its really pretty easy. I asked God early on to make things really simple for me, so when I've got a decision to make, he show me what's the right choice and I do it. And that's how it's been. Even a dummy can't stuff that up. (: But it's meant I've made some decisions that surprised me, but turned out to be amazing and changed everything (like becoming a teacher). It's also meant I've made some decisions I would never have had the courage to make if I hadn't heard it from God (like becoming a teacher... teenagers in a mob are scary, they will trample you down and keep on going).
What was I talking about? God.
God is good. He's the only thing that makes everything else ok.
