About Me

Licensed and bonded rudeman, DFT has been in the drum and bass practice for over a decade. Working relentlessly as a dj, producer, and promoter, he has dominated the Phoenix scene since his arrival in 2000. He has opened for the likes of Goldie, Dara, Andy C, Dieselboy, Shy FX, Donald Glaude, and Z-trip among countless others. As the only d&b dj out of four mixers nominated for the title of "best dj" by the Phoenix New Times, he has exhibited superiority with his seamless mixing and turntable antics. DFT is a cornerstone of AZ's underground music scene having held residencies at the legendary Lucky Dragon, Essential Wednesdays, Sub-Concious, Rumble Sessions, and Konkrete Jungle to name a few. All the while, he has always sought to push his sound to greater audiences appearing on top-ranking Phoenix radio stations like Power 92.3 and Energy 92.7, as well a host of internet and college radio shows. He has been spotted performing at nightclubs all over the west coast. Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, and Denver are just a few of DFT's regular stops. 2004 brought him international recognition as a producer when he released a colaborative project with drum and bass legend DJ Soulslinger for the Liquid Sky label. Producing under the alias "David Francis Turnstyle" and with influences like Digital, Ink, Breakage, and Q-Project, his sound can be described as soulfully rugged. "I am a dj first and a producer second" he says modestly. With polished crowd-rocking skills and coolly calculated delivery, this veteran comes correct year after year, time and time again. Often imitated though never duplicated, DFT has set the bar awfully damn'd high for anyone who would attempt to front on his mad-crazy skills.
