Enzo Ponzio

The Sicilian artist Enzo Ponzio starts his career as a DJ in 1991. For several years he works in clubs and parties in Sicily, then he decides to move to Milan, where he soon starts working as a composer and sessionman in several production of different artists before realizing, for the "Scenario Music" label, his first solo CD, titled “Sopra la Soglia”, and founding the “Ganesh” project. In the meantime he starts collaborating with artists from the “dance” environment and, above all, he starts presenting his DJ sets, which feature a mix of Jazz, Electronic and Breakbeat. He becomes thus DJ resident in several of the main lounge clubs in Milan.Later he starts an important collaboration with the German radio station “Radio42” www.radio42.com, for which the hosts a mixed program, “The Blue Set” every Thursday from 6 to 7 PM, where he presents his music. His sound is soon noticed abroad and in Italy, in Puglia , for example, where he regularly plays his DJ sets. He continues producing singles for "Scenario Music", that are included in important compilations (Bossa'n'go 3, Bossa'n'go 4, Martini Moods vol.3). His sound captures the attention of Italian and international networks; in Italy he is in the playlist of “Generation Cocktail”, hosted by Andrea Gelli on “Radio Italia Network”, for about a year. The “Gq” magazine, in its issue of February 2005, includes him among the 30 best DJs in Italy. In summer 2005 he participates in the Mtv Sunset Tour, with which he tours Italy presenting his new album, Club 21. In the same period, Enzo Ponzio joins the Radio Italia Network team for the program “La Noche Escabrosa”. In summer 2006, Enzo Ponzio and “Ganesh” take part again in the “Mtv Sunset 2006” together with artists such as “Zero7”, “2 Many dj’s”, “Soulwax” and “Skin”. In the meantime he records his new album “Ganesh – Life is beautiful”, released in October 2007. In summer 2007 he brings his DJ set at “Turquoise”, in Rimini, during the event for the release of the new “Seat Leon”, with artists such as Tony Corizia, Andrea Corelli, Andrea Thor, Tagliaferri.In 2007 he has been very active as a producer: his production "Enzo Ponzio - My 80's Funk" was in fact released by the label “Pizzico Record” of Modena. His single is soon among the top 50 in Juno charts, under the "Disco" genre, reaching the 11th position in the singles chart. His tracks are included in the DJ sets of artists such as “Martini Bros” and “Aeroplane”, of the Belgian label “Ekimo”. He continues his collaboration with the label “Pizzico Records”, with which he releases new “Ep’s” such as “Works Part 1” and “Works Part 2”, released at the beginning of July 2008. He also works for “Pizzico Records” as a Remixer, working on various tracks such as “Rubber Balls” by the Australian band “Butterscorch”, which is included in the “Ministry of Sound” compilation, and “Arborea” of the Italian band "Bogus&Bonnes", "Skylax Records".
