About Me
Error is a pioneer of Latvian harsh noise/power electronics/experimental noise and dark ambient. Started in 1996 as one big joke, unwillingly and uncontrolled even by its author himself, developed into one of the most beautifully extreme eastern european noise acts. His work gained praise (though, more often failure to understand) not only owing to its unfamiliar avant-garde aesthetics, but also, to its ironic elements of social subversion. In the end of nineties popular were Errors sound synthesis pieces containing speeches of radio evangelists and deconstructed pop songs. Through the years Error has been drifting from harsh noise to ambient noise, combining seemingly opposite sound elements into one chaotiharmonic sound product, currently performing so called melancholic noise. Error in his work is capable of reflecting profound emotion, balancing between deep, even overly dramatic seriousness and irony. The feelings induced by his music, among others, are anxiety of despair, sadness ranging from apathetic to piercing, and grotesque drama. Stylistically, his music envelops rather broad spectrum, it oscillates from purely experimental sound art to power noise, from darkly lyrical ambient to harsh noise. In 2002, as Aldis Ozols, he developed sound design for environmental artist Eleonore Straubs exhibition at the German Federal Environmental Agency.
Error has been performing in lettonia, germania, france, russland, türkiye, lithuania, belgium... enjoys performing in most unusual and inspiring locations, ie, appartments, post-military bases, government ministries
